The core of the group is the same as lat year with a few decent inclusions including a Div 1 ruckman, a CDFC under 19's captain and some old juniors who have been playing SANFL at junior level. We are confident without being stupid about it, but we are also fully aware that the challenges are going to be huge and the standard alot tougher. We do have a very young squad but majority have now played senior footy for the last few years, some have been playing A's for almost 4 years so its not a new step for them. But things are looking promising but I guess there are 10 teams who all look good on the track this time of year so that's no real indication until the games begin !!

Where is young Scudds playing.. GG or Modbury ???[/quote]

There is absolutely no talk of him playing at GG at all with his BIG brother Shane as FS would agree, but I still find it interesting that he has been seen at GG...
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

CBC
Jess Rivers - Has been plagued with injuries and lacked commitment. Things have changed! Played Div 1 footy and Ressies for Nth Adel

Josh Hegerty - Natural footballer broke down last year in pre season is a fitness freak

Nick Pilli - Last name too long to spell. Won our B&F fast with a big kick

Damian Keen - Has real troubles with fitness is a solid lad but can carry the ball over the lines and kick 50m

Chong Phan - The big asian bogan has been transformed into a backman and is a year older with more experience

What have you guys got??

I like where your heads at Flipper! I would have Greg Sproule in your top 5 though.

Well he we go for Pooraka's, would like to hear feedback on my top 5 choices, and maybe a couple I may have missed out on. In no particular order.

Dean Pead: Great hands, and our fearless leader. Div 4 team of the year VC.

Drew Hosking: Tough as nails defender, always does the job on the main forward.

Lee Coghill: Will be the standout Centre Half forward this year, built like a brick shithouse, can kick 50+ and will take 9/10 pack marks.

Anthony Paradiso: Quick as! Absolutely impossible to tackle this bloke too. Div 4 side of the year last year.

Adam Greaves: Huge ticker, second and third efforts can't be beaten.

FF I actually missed both games against Pooraka (through injury) and accidently got very p!$$ed so cant comment on your top 5 but will watch these guys with interest throughout the year.

Sprawly very good player will be even better than last year after spending a full season and another pre season with the lads!

Ahh yes, Nick Pilichiewicz. Another fine product from HVFC. Think he went to school at CBC but played in two U/17 premierships with us. Shame to see him go

Yep new coach, I've been out to a few trainings, and he's working us hard.
Boys are looking fit.
By the sound of this forum we're going in as massive underdogs, but thats ok..
Games aren't won on here.
Last year injuries hurt us big time and we still finished 6th. With a bit of luck you never know...

as choccies said heaps of blokes on the track and everyone is excited about this season, i think because it s a new div with some very old and proud clubs, and from what i have seen and heard some great footballers, and a good hard standard, also the fact that we are finally out of the armpit divs, i think everyone without going into it and naming clubs know what i mean.
A few players off the top of my head
Obviously S.Peterson- quality div.1 player big motor will have some great battles in the ruck which will be exciting to watch
P.Macarthy- has been so solid across half back the last few years for such a young bloke, big test this year agaisnt some very talented centre half forwards
Jimmy K- last years b&f, young, skillful, very talented, great footy brain for someone so young, obviously will be targeted and this will be a great challenge for the bloke, who i believe will stand up.
G.Simmons- getting on but will be so good for the young boys, likes it hard and tough everyone stands a little taller in the forward lines when he is around, very dangerous around goal.
Furno- the human wrecking ball, dont let his size fool you, knows how to hit packs hard and loves to tackle with awesome second and third effors, is a KFC favourite.

maybe not the top 5 but 5 players that i think will have a big say on how well we travel this year
i dont know if you heard me, but i did over a thousand

Spoke to some of the lads from NH on the weekend and they may not even have a side this year!
They have had 14 A graders from last year leave the club apparently. That is crippling to any side.
A similiar thing happened to Pooraka in 2004 when we dropped from Div 1. Now look where we are!

I hope they have a team this year, we have managed to build quite a rivalry with them and it would be really bad if a proud club like NH folded. Not a bad oval to play footy on either, and always a good atmosphere with passionate fans!

Goodluck guys

We lost 26 players last season, (mainly to one club), all it done was opened the door for some 16 to 18 year olds to be given the opportunity, although we didn't set the world on fire and finished 4th, we were able to match up pretty well with the two Grand Final sides, we beat Greenies once and I don't think either side beat us by over 4 goals.

North Haven had a pretty successful year in the 18's for memory last year.

Not sure why Wattsy is not able to coach but i would suggest if he had put his hand up then many of the blokes leaving would have stayed...the bloke they appointed has either coached or attempted to coach every team in southern hemisphere. They were a youngish side last year, agreed with LQ - it will give kids a go and by the looks of things they have some good ones.

From what i hear, the meeting being called is not just about the loss of players, but another issue.

Haven have lost a fair chunk of last years u18s side.

We lost a whole A grade side 3 years ago, but it gave a whole new group of blokes an opportunity. Many of them were chucked in the deep end, and played A grade footy before they were really ready. We did have a very good u17 side in 2003/2004, which helped the cause.

What is issue Felch?
As an aside is that Eagles kid who won the u/19's medal still at WWT or playing with Portland? That kid can play...

Im not going to mention the issue on here, as some pretty serious allegations are being thrown around.

Harris got dumped by the Eagles, and is currently training at the Magpies. He will play for us if when he is not required by them. He played 3 games for us last year, and polled 9 votes in the D4 medal !!!
