This is the part of the river that runs behind my joint. This was dry as a bone yesterday. Nice and full now !!

The water Board are constructing a wet land there, and have started the works. This'll set them back as they wanted the river as dry as possible so they could remove 60000 cubic metres of dirt.

FYI, the island in the river will stay as a breeding ground for ducks etc, but there will be a footbridge near it connecting the banks. This'll mean you'll be able to walk from Lockleys Footy Club to the Lockleys Hotel more quickly

It definitely will be filled before fringe next weekend somehow. The Adelaide City Council won't have the embarassement of the torrens like that with thousands of interstate and overseas visitors coming to Adelaide in the next week.

I think that a smart move by the ACC would be to purchase a shi*e load of material and cover up the river, whether it be basic tarpaulin or something more artistic.
It will be costly but the damage done to the city's reputation could be irreperable if the mud is left in view.

That'd be nice, passing a bucket, instead of the buck.

Anything of value ( ie: with some strength and tear stop ) would be above $12 per m for a 2m wide roll.

The water and backlash would be cheaper.

But the condensation from the plastic could fill the river back up ;)
