Anymore news on kangarillas ins and outs for 09?
I got told that theyre first pre season run turned into a pre season spray with a double time trial after one player didnt complete the first run to an acceptable standard. Great way to introduce new recruits to the club and start on a positive note!

Nairne have a few new recruits floating around the traps in 09, should be once again around the mark with thier running youngsters and thier new tall forwards..
Beats me though that a couple of them could be getting paid 250 a game after watching them at previous clubs.
Definately not all cracked up to be, will be keeping a close watch thats for sure!

Have meadows got any players left whos gone and whos sticking around to rebuild?
Heard that the Bailey boys were contemplating leaving to play in the SFL?
New recruits?

1250, u know for a fact that some of the boys leaving kangy want to either play at a higher level which is fair enough or have left for money. Now Im not saying that Stringers methods are bad or gunna chase players away as i enjoy a hard coach, all im saying is that some players might not like those methods. And yes if they dont then take a hike coz its not gunna change..
But someone who leaves to play at a higher level isnt in the wrong, its a way of improving ones footy..

I know it is only early days yet and most have only started training, but are there any Trial Games lined up yet.
I know there is a rumor going around
Echunga Vs Bridgewater on the 28th can anyone confirm this, the guy I heard this from was unsure.

After all the pre-christmas hype, how are Maccy shaping up under their new super coach? Are they a realistic finals contender?

I think finals contenders would be what they are aiming for but not sure they will get that close. Time will tell.... I see on the GSFL thread that Maccy have signed Ronald Rankine from Encounter Bay ex Modbury who would be a reasonable recruit if he is switched on

The name of former Maccy A grade player Peter Mackie has also been splashed around. Would be a good pickup

That would be a huge in for maccy, certainly a great player and a local which will be important for them this year. Have heard he is the best shape he has been for years which is very promising, could return to being one of the comps premier ruckman

He hasnt been able to lift his arms above his head for years, never seemed to prevent him from swinging a wild hay maker when the umpire was looking elsewhere mind you

Nairne Bremer up and running..

Trial games are planned as follows:

Internal trial 13th March at Cornerstone.
Friday night 20th March at Noarlunga for A/B’s and a full club trial versus Mypolonga at Mypo on Saturday 28th March.

Round 1 will be at Nairne under lights versus Torrens Valley and Round 3 the big Anzac Day clash at Nairne under lights versus Meadows.

The 20 year Triple premiership reunion is on Round 5 (versus Kangarilla game) on May 9th.

you are talking about peter mackie not damian mackie, pete will try will provide a contest but a great player? we'll have to wait and see all the improvement he must of had since being out of the game
