IMO Melbourne would have rather faces Qld, the more you win against an opponent the more secrets you give away, no doubt there will be a differnt game plan this week and Adelaide can thrive on the underdog tag, pity I have a 40th this Sat night otherwise I would have made the trip over

As for the crowd last night they would have lost 2-3K just from the stupid 6.30pm kick off...I just dont understand it when all other kicks offs have been 7.30pm all year and the kick off time last night was 6.00pm in Queensland! Makes it impossible for anyone playing sport or at the races yesterday to get there in time

Stunning goal by Barbiero, worth winning any game of football. Now all he needs to do is do the same next week.

Gutsy effort by the reds. Without Diego & Cassio we lacked creativity in the midfield so our best chance of winning was to nick one and hold on. Everyone (even Christiano) worked hard without the ball and Qld didnt really have too many clear cut chances and the only way they would have scored was with a cracker strike like Barbiero's.

Pitiful crowd. I agree with a previous post that the biggest factor was most likely that many didnt believe we could win ( i admit to having some $ on Qld) At least the 8000 that showed up were the diehards and were very knowledgeable as shown when booing the decision to sub Salley off (only reason i can think of is that viddy must have thought he was tiring due to lack of matches .... but to me he wasnt showing any signs of that). Also small crowd meant no line up for the bar so that was a positive :D

Now we need the same committed performance next week. We will be rank outsiders but every hoodoo has to end one day..... GO YOU REDS!!

I agree about Cornthwaite. A much maligned defender but performed admirably last night. i liken him to a referee whereby if you dont notice him then he is doing a good job.....didnt notice him once in the second half.

Vidmar said Salley's hamstrings were coming off the bone...that's probably Viddie's fault for not playing him in the starting 11 during the season.
