Having been given the site ok to advertise an event that I have been heavily involved with organising, I've taken the opportunity to do so.
The Maronite Catholic Community of South Australia will play host to a contingent of Victorian Maronites who will be coming over during the Adelaide Cup long weekend. The Maronite Church is a member of one of the Syriac Eastern Catholic Churches, with a heritage reaching back to Maron in the early 5th century in Lebanon.
The football match has been part of an initiative to get South Australian and Victorian Maronite youth together and involved in Australian culture and what better way to do it through one of our greatest aspects, SPORT!
After almost 11 years the community decided to reignite the State of Origin concept which was first played in the late 80's between the two states. The tally currently stands at 4-2 Victoria's way.
