all ahead of Punter I'd suggest. I thought tactically he was very poor in England in 2005 and in India last year although the selectors didn't help a great deal in that series. Winning percentages aren't the complete picture of the how good a captain is, you need to have a look at the troops at their disposal and how they are deployed.

We know he was poor in England, lets move on. He's become a much better captain from the experience. Winning %'s aren't everything but he's hardly a bad captain WITH that %. It says he's not bad, end of story.
No doubt Watto. My point was that the other blokes were all pretty good captains so not exactly a knock on Punter that he wasn't up to speed with them. Tubby copping a bit above, not sure why as he was a very good captain. His field settings were very good and he was the perfect skipper in how he used Shane Warne in particular. How soon we forget boys.
