Wat didnt turn out how you planned?
Your BATTING?
Your BOWLING?
Your FIELDING
OR
Your CAPTAINCY?

4 facets of the game you struggled with yesterday..

THE 20/20 MATCH REPORT..

The black team won the toss and elected to bat first on the rock hard batsmen friendly astro turf wicket.. They sent in "the silver fox" and "mad magazine" and these 2 strategically took the power play in the 1st over. They were shit scared of wat was to come and Lynton came out with a yellow helmet which had imprinted “hit me”.. From the outset the black team looked to be taking the game a little too seriously.. Nurturing the ball around for gay singles and not taking any risks while the field was up. The only highlight that came from the first over was hooky’s one handed catch to remove the silver fox.. Then came some of "Trojans" terrible captaincy moves.. He brought on Hooky and then Frank from the poofter street end and they got dispatched all over the park.. The partnership could have been a lot more had big Flynny not stemmed the flow of runs. During his sharp 1 over spell he managed to send down an absolute ripsnorter of a short ball which was goin straight towards Lynton’s boil/cyss on his neck. Luckily for Lynton he got some glove on it and luckily for the fielding side the boil/cyss didn’t pop.
The next pair to enter was Splodgey and Rebbdogg.. These 2 did sweet f**k all and offered the red team with a little bit of hope.. Not much to report on here however the red team pegged the score back dramatically thanks mainly to V.Thach’s 1/0 of his fiery first over and J.Nuske’s warney like leg spinners .. The game changing moment came when umpire S.Mullholland-officiating in his first 20/20 game gave rebbdogg the benefit of the doubt. The ball trickled to the boundary and Rebbdogg turned for a 2nd taking on the fielder.. The fielder was V.Thach, the throw was rocket like, and the result was the batsmen 3-4m short of his crease.. The red team was in disbelief and the 100 strong crowd was stunned. Terrible call by Mullholland and I doubt he’ll be officiating in a Para Hills 20/20 again.
Next to enter was Shane Hanson and some one else (Dale) .. I’ll call him someone else cos Shane hogged the strike.. Good individual performance by Hanson who top scored for the day with 41.. But the majority of his runs came off 1 expensive over.. The bowler in question was The Trojan War.. He came off his long run up (3m) and got absolutely spanked all over the park. Trojan and his half trackers netted Hanson and his black team a lazy 21 runs.. If bringing yourself on and getting spanked wasn’t bad enough his next captaincy call wasn’t much better, he brought on the new kid on the block Jake, who probably wont train Tuesday cos he’s suffering from a sore neck from seeing the ball go straight back over his head too many times.. By this stage I had conceded the match and decided to field in the one position ( in the shade, boundary side, next to the beers) and don’t really have much to report on seeing as I was talking to the opposition batsmen for the remaining 10 or so overs and ended up pretty blind. The last few overs I did manage to see a classic G.Olds rapture like catch, a one handed catch by V.Thach whilst the beer was in his left hand and big Tim hitting R.Mamerow in the head with a bouncer.

Top 3 Fielders
M.Hayhurst: toiled hard all day and conceded at least 30 runs wherever he fielded and was go to man for the batting side
Trojan: barely sighted all day and failed to dive or bend over unless the ball was hit straight to him and even then he thought about letting the sweeper field it.
Jake Levy: Wat can I say, he dropped a couple of sitters but gave it his all. Lucky he’s got a good lookin missus, cos that took my attention away from his poor fielding.

I’ll leave vintage red or hanno to write the match report of the black teams fielding…

With the ruck division being bolstered this week, those supergoals might come straight off the hands of a very un mobile tap ruckman!

Weight doesn't seem to be an issue for this young fella, the coaching staff must be very happy and confident with his fitness as I've heard he's playing both games, huge effort! Unless the club has organised a chuck wagon to go out to the centre I think you'll find he'll leave the square at some stage to grab a pie......... or 4!
