I think round 1 starts on Anzac Day.

The league is promoting it as a rivalary round

North Clare v South Clare
Blyth/Snowtown v BSR
Min/Man v RSMU
BBH v Eudunda

Whos looking the goods this year lads? I know that Blyth/Snowtown will be strong. A lot of numbers out at training I've noticed. Few new numbers that look good. Good feeling around the club as well.

Heard a rumour from a mate the other day that Shay Clifford was in talks with a club in Adelaide. Would be another big loss.

it would be hard not to back a B/S v RSMU final this year... with RSMU just over the line with home ground advantage!!!!

How are things at Min/Man? We have a trial game against them the week before Easter, just wondering how their pre-season is going. Be interesting to hopefully see a few of the blokes we play cricket against playing footy. Do Min/Man have any other trial games before or after ours? The oval at Wakey is coming along OK at the moment they'll be pleased to know, could always use a decent rain though, as a lot of ovals could at this time of year.

What about Min/Man... they won it last year and have gained the services of Aaron Bevis, who was considered one of the best players in the BLG!!!

Its going to be very tight this year. Very difficult to predict the top 4 let alone the top 2. North, BBH, Blyth/Snowtown, RSMU and Min/Man all very worthy candidates but unfortunatly they can't all play finals. Maybe a repeat of BBH's lack of luck missing out by percentage a repeat this year.

I agree that it will be an even year. RSMU, Min/Man and Blyth/Snowtown are the standouts. Min/Man will miss Todd Miles who is trying out again for the Eagles and Blyth/Snowtown are missing Jarrod Gillings who is overseas. Adding Bevis and keeping Brad Currie will be bonuses for Min/Man. Blyth/Snowtown have recruited very well and will be a lot more settled this year with less players working up north. Shay Clifford isn't going anywhere.

BBH, North and South are the next bunch. BBH is the darkhorse of the competition. Getting Boh Wall and Aaron Spicer back is a big bonus. They only missed the finals by 5pts last year and I would think they will be keen to break their 20 year finals drought. North have Brad James back but could be lacking the big men that the top teams have. South will probably have the mail medallist (Scott Lewis) but he can't play everywhere.

BSR and Eudunda look like having another long season although Eudunda could cause a few problems especially at home.

Very true rattlesnake but i think they will be missing todd miles in the engine room a bit too much through the year... is mcdermid sticking around... i heard he was also planning on having another crack in town????

I concur with streak of pelican on the Top 4... not necessarilly in that order however...

Mail Medal - Tie between the superstar Bevis (Min Man) and Josh Hollitt (North Clare)

Wooden Spoon - BSR (Eudunda have picked up a couple of handy ex league players Pepe (Eagles) and a bloke from Port Adelaide (name escapes me)).

Top 4: RSMU, Blyth/ Snowtown, North, Min Man, BBH fifth by percentage
Mail medal - Aaron Bevis.
Wooden Spoon - BSR - For the reasons you gave Edgar.

I honestly can't see south improving a great deal until the get back the services of Ben seyman, matt vany, josh vany. Also losing Josh Berrett to Barossa leaves them with a big hole and trying to find 60 goals from somewhere.

Minman very handy again although Miles gone again leaves a big hole. Megahead Kerslake will have to step it up at CHF if he can stay injury free with that neck holding up that head. Also the nichols boys have now all retired....apparently, wait and see on this one.

BSR - Will battle heard that numbers on the track is the issue here.

Riverton - Strong again but haven't heard to many rumblings from here.

North - Saw an internal trial the other night and they are reall looking quite good and a few players not playing in their traditional spots. I think the news has been pretty quiet over the preseason however I think they will be under estimated.

Blyth - Lost a couple gained a couple - Much the same but still strong.

Overall the leauge looking good !!

Not many changes to report with RSMU... losing Crabbe and Williams will be a blow but there is depth to cover ther losses... going to be a good tough year across the board!!!

Round 1 rivalry week is going to be big... Tips?????

Min/Man V RSMU... sorry lads but if Bevis plays to expectation could be a handful
B/S V BSR... enough said
South v North... too many outs and not sure where the goals will come from for south
BBH v Eudunda... with Boh and Spice back in could be a good year for the Rams

Angry Bull - where has Crabb and Williams gone? Crabb will leave a gaping hole at CHB... he was nearly impenetrable last year...

I agree with your tips for round 1...

Word on the grape vine is that Ryan McDermid is playing back at MinMan however he hasn't sign as he is trying to bleed the club for more cash.

My prediction:
Blyth/Snowtown, RSMU, Min/Man, BBH (North to be unlucky)
Premier: Blyth/Snowtown (lost big but recruited bigger)
Mail Medal: Ryan Darling
Spoon: BSR

Crabbe has returned to adelaide to play- a team in div 2 or 3 amatuers- will be sorely missed... williams is now back with the RSMU after a little flirting with the idea of joining willaston... his brother is back out also which may of helped in the decision making. Luke Sandland is also back after a couple of years with North Adelaide.
