Hey Pag any new signings this year heard solley was out for a run pen to paper yet.
do you no if c grade are playing after us anzac day???
Solly has been out mate, not sure whether a clearance has gone through or not. Got ourselves a new ruckman as well which will help.

Haven't heard about ANZAC Day mate, I would think the C Grade would play at your ground, I don't think our lights are of a good enough standard for them to play after the A Grade, would be a quality spectacle though.

Heard you boys had Fricky play against Fitzroy on the weekend, he put pen to paper yet?

Hey guys, just to clarify - recently the State Govt has undertaken a program to reclaim water from the Patawolonga to the parklands (basically reusing water which would otherwise flow out to sea). In doing so, they've dug up a big chunk of the western side of railways oval and stuck down a big water pipe which runs through to the Torrens.

Iggies weren't too happy about it as until then they had done a fairly decent job in trying to get the oval into an acceptable state, only for their efforts to go down the drain (no pun intended). In any case, their round two game after Easter will be against SPOC and they will most probably play that one at St Ignatius College (the school usually let them play one game a year there, and only against other Old Scholars teams).

Adelaide City Council have said they'll try and plant new grass to replace what was dug up but it remains to be seen whether any improvement will be made before matches are played on the ground. Hopefully they'll be allowed to water the oval because any new seedlings will just die if they can't water due to water restrictions! Anyway, the league might let them use Thebarton Oval until the situation improves.

I spoke to someone from Iggies last night about this and he said that they won't be playing at Railways at this stage until about Round 6 or 7. In the interim they will play their home games at Thebby with the game against SPOC at the school.

Very smart - you wouldn't want the Portland blokes at the school - you should've seen what they did to the trees at our oval!!

Don't go hanging your hat on your new ruckman doing a lot, might get a hand on the ball but you'll need to have blokes all around him for it to go anywhere.

Salisbury v Old Ignatians - Eenie, meenie, miney, mo, who knows how these teams will go?
Portland v Para Hills - Have to go with Hills here, only because they're a big finals contender this year. Portland untrialed at this level for a few years
SMOSH West Lakes v Scotch OC - SMOSH are expected to do well this year, Scotch aren't taking Sturt rejects anymore to my knowledge so could suffer.
St Peter's OC v Woodville South - Almost flag favourites, aren't they?
Mitcham v Walkerville - Mitcham are an unknown

woody sth would be happy with there effort against a side a lot thought will take it out this year. Portland and salisbury look to have a bit of work to do.

We have plenty of work to do.

Para Hills were good, but we were terrible as well. We allowed them to do whatever they liked, when they liked. Didn't give a yelp !!!

Para Hills looked the part on Saturday, came dressed in slacks and polos and looked very professional. Hats off to them for it. The majority of their players came into the clubs for a drink afterwards too, which was much appreciated.

Good, hard footy side and, being first round, hard to gauge where they will sit in the scheme of things. I would take a guess though and say they are in it right up to their eyeballs.

Their B grade was good too, we stayed with them for nearly 3 quarters but they were by far the more skilled team on the day. I thought we had a crack, which was the only thing that kept us in it so long.
