Yes selection was very interesting at Modbury i think the D Grade had 38 players to choose from.... lucky you can pick 25 now.

Yeah heard that rule last night, good for the lower grades where generally the legs are older and the fitness not there.

We just got a team together for the first game last night, think the Friday night timeslot put a few blokes off.

Modbury were a very good unit for a D Grade team, and saw the best hanger in the history of C/D grade football.

We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Not sure how this 25 man bench thing is going to pan out. Great for sides like ours (Modbury) who have the luxury of plenty of players but for sides only scraping together 18-20 players each week may find it very hard to compete. Watched Modbury play friday night and they had that many on the bench they could of rested there whole forward or back line in one hit.

As for the hanger, it was massive wasnt it!

i think the 25 player rule is too open to abuse and will be very handy for sides with a consistent player ability base. will benefit uni come finals times if sides below don't make finals

wandered in today and the ground is holding up superbly - middle may be soft but the rest of ground has no real soggy patches.
