Looks like the Nairne and TV are the only Hills Country sides filling a 'C' grade this year. With Kersbrook not selecting one, Kym Pearce could be left short of catching fellow Brooker John MacDonald's HFL Senior games record.

I watched him on the weekend he contributed strongly in forward line creating major opportunities and forward options changed in ruck and also created problems for opposition.
When 100% fit and settled into new side with players looking for him and allowing him space, has great ability to destroy opposition.
Strong marking, kicking ability, strength and ball skills allows him to take control of any situation.
Great forward and asset to any club. Huge recruit for TV. Surprised Nuriootpa didnt do more to retain him. Bad luck to the other clubs who missed out on him.
I say unleash him and let him loose, he's a machine and will wreak havoc.

How has Kersbrook shaped up over the summer period, any inclusions? Hopefully they will be able to go all the way again this year, and hopefully a big year from the clubs 2008 rising star Josh Krake.

Tv over Nairne rams 17-4

Josh hill five 4 T/V

Best TV J Jacques, M Cooper, M Clayton,C Young, J Hill

Best NB K heinrich,Arbon,Mauel,Berkett,

Tv too strong..too big, where burting tackles etc..had a 7 goal first q, but did kick inaccurately.

NB battled on but not enough body strength.

a. Give the great man GH..not only has he got a big cheuebeek, he has a great calculater, To get all the imports into the side and still be at 35 points is a stroke of genuis.

b. Do we have a mercy rule in HFL..The big O mite need one when tV play say Cally.

any scores from Kangas vs Cally?

Trewans only down fall is he is unable to complete a full season. When he returned to Nuri in the second half of the season last year he made them a 5 goal better side and they started to win some games. Expect some big bags from him this year.

What can I say, Gumeracha did a great job.
Ashby is an extremely good player and Quinton Graham was very effective after half time and another guy who was wearing number 8 was very good as well as one of their indigenous recruits off half back.
Maccy was 4 goal up in the second quarter and then one of Gum's players - who looks lik a caveman - started going the knuckle and of course one of Maccys player's gets sent off for sticking up for a 17 year old kid.
Think both sides are a lot better than last year but how much they will push the top sides remains to be seen.

With all due respect that is garbage. Our bloke was giving a bit of niggle to the kid (who is fair game if he wants to play A Grade) and one of your players decided to go smack him across the chops, which of course led to the scuffle. The thing that made this win satisfying was the behaviour of some of the Maccy "supporters" who, when they got those 4 goals up thought it was pretty cool to start mouthing off and calling us all sorts of colourful things. After that, and one hell of a spray from the coach at half time the tide turned.

I do agree on the last line though. I think we're a much better side, as are Maccy but we're still nowhere near the top 4 sides. We had a few A graders missing still so itll be interesting to see what difference they make. We have Torrens Valley next game, cant really expect much more than a competitive performance but its always nice to start off the season with a win for a change.

I see Mick Ashby turned it on. The kid is a gun and will go close to the medal.

How did Patman, Roughton and Quinn go for maccy?

How did Buckfield, clarke and the ramsell boys go for gums?

And yeah Ashbys a gun, will poll plenty of votes but we simply wont win enough games for him to win it.

Yep, I would have to agree mate. Didn't see the game as I ended up at Unley...a sober driver was too good to refuse. Have had several reliable reports though and all said exactly the same. I am happy to eat my old shorts, mould and all. Apparently Cally fought really hard and fielded A's and B's with no duplications. Go Eagles! I won't miss the next one.
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.

Sunday game ended up being something of a non event.
Echunga was a class above all day. The first quarter Meadows looked something like an old Milang side, just letting Echunga run all over them, and keeping Meadows scoreless. Too much run and silky skills, Will be interesting though for Echunga when they come up against bigger bodies on a smaller ground, but play them on a big ground, from what i seen on the weekend I don't think many will keep up with them. Echunga won by around 28 goals, Echunga B's won by around 13 goals. Meadows still have the Juniors comp though.

Close to the Medal??? Kersbrook have at least 5 better players than him, and they'll win a lot more games than Gums. Just glad it looks like Gumeracha aren't gonna make the Mt.Gould Cup 30 goal drubbings they've been for the last few years.

Has Terminator or Ducks have anything to report on the Gums v Maccy game? Both sides did look they'll be more competitive this year.
