I still think people are jumping the gun a fraction. It was round 1 and its clear Pultney are going to be tough. Lets assess it in a few more rounds , obviously it will be a struggle for IF all year but i dont think it will be as bad as expected. Fantastic experience for young fella to play on Perrie, and your right Perrie should have kicked more.

Can i also say though, full credit to Perrie and Basset who held themselves very professionally and showed great leadership for Pultney, especially with the constant sledging they copped lol.

Was a fairly close contest, Kenilworth had a few moments where they went missing and blackfriars took full advantage getting those couple in front and was enough to hold them off.

Might need to get Big Brian "The Bristler" Taylor down there to take goal kicking - Josh STEFANS from 30 out, not making the distance (pressure from behind the goals) & the big fella no. 23 playing on from on the ground and not getting it through, kicked about 6 for day though, great hands on him.

fair call there goodkat..i said to my mates he wont make the distance :)

23 was on one leg as well from the 10 minute mark of 1st 1/4 and then ozzy and the chf smashed into each other and we lost another big man by about the 15 minute mark.. a 17 and 16 y/o played ruck all day..good signs but no chocolates

the big C Bar kicked 4 on one leg playing up forward, hopefully he stays up there most of the year. As for Ozzy, i dont know how he got up off the ground, he looked as if he had been hit by a truck.
Their were goods signs for the kooka's but the key now is to turn good signs into 4 qtrs and the 'W'.

Went up to Hope Valley first time on satday to have a look. Was surprised at the level of the Hope Valley side.I think we may have underestimated the quality of the valleys side.Had a couple of pretty classy players with good long kicks on em,plus some very tall timber!
I reckon our side will improve a fair bit from here though with a lot of a graders to come back into the side.I was impressed with the hospitality and catering as well, had a top feed and a few beers!

I think the canteen service was top notch, very friendly indeed.
I understand the HV runner was pretty slow, in fact some of the players are still waiting for their messages......

blacks to good today v kookas..gave them a 4 goal start and we couldnt reel it in and get ahead

old farmer..how did basset and perrie play?

good opening rd down at k'worth. pretty physical clash but played very fairly. our boys were a bit patchy but were able to kick goals in the second half when needed. bit of work to do in front of goals, 12.19 ....
b grade captain gave me a spray, but i wasn't alone, most of his team mates cpped one from him as well.

Yeah good call sprinty, I thought it was a top notch game for round 1. Both teams were scrappy in patches but could not fault the physicality of the clash. Pretty good standard throughout for game 1. Yeah I thought we were a tad stiff in the B's mate,if we had a a target up forward presenting I beleive we could have been up by quite a bit at quater time, not meant to be. So I take it you played in the magoos??

3 good exciting games of footy. Some solid hits on the body in all 3 grades as well. It was certainly on for young and old early in each game. Triple header's are an awesome idea. Looking forward to the return bout at Plympton in Round 10

nah, just filled in umpiring the 2's. big ground. a chf and/or ff and our boys would ahve had pressure on them as your lads ran the ball well. open space helps, not sure how well the handball game will go on small grounds though.

did #7 in your a's play last year?
