Well after yesterdays poor showing at Mackay we get the chance to confidently get back into the posative… with some good racing today. Place Pool is at $470….. so each bet is still $24 PLACE

AR R1 #8…… Fantasies Tonight….. (sounds like bayman and MAL should back this on its name alone after their Hanson Rd form!)….All first starters in this event and many of you will stay way BUT I emailed Sam Hayes about six months ago re: work, and asked for a couple of good youngsters to keep an eye on….one of them was a two-year-old Lion Hunter filly. (their first Lion Hunter filly) It didn’t end up having a 2YO start and I see it is in today. It obviously has ability and has been given time to find its feet. It will do me! Looking for $2 PLACE

AR R2 #6 ….Star of Suresh….. been following this one for a while now….. will settle back and work home well over this journey….cant see it missing a drum. Its fast finishing 3rd in a harder race on Balak Cup day was good and I see the horse that beat it by half a length is favourite for the Class 2 race today Manilla Heat. Back to Maiden company it looks a SPESH the place. Looking for $2.20 PLACE

AR R7 #4 ….Silver Zodiac is a duck….. loves the wet and with the track rated a dead 5 and only going to get cut up and worse as the day goes on he will be in the finish. Good win first up then started in the market in 2 runs in town before a good run last start in a similar race. Should get a gun run just of the speed. Looking for $3 PLACE

BR R7 #2 ….Mt Gower is a speed machine, the pole draw will suit and first up form reads OK. Will give a great sight in front….. the only worry will be the last 50 meters and the state of the track but we should hang on for a place. 13 wins over the 1000m and handles the wet....Looking for $2.50 PLACE

NR R5 #10….I know trial form can be miss leading but Zaffron Girl went SUPER in its trial a couple of weeks back on TVN showing up a couple of top liners in Big Joker and Stormhill who race in Group company….. This class 1 event at Wyong looks well within this fillys reach. With a soft run behind the early speed and even luck it will be winning. Is a winner at the track. We wont see $11 as quoted in the press. Looking for $2.60 Place (dreaming I think)

I am very confident about todays 5 place bets………Good Luck with the punt !!!

Others that came under strong consideration were…. For interest only were….
.AR R3 #1….Benehil race on the speed and a real place chance @ $3
BR R1 #5 Lord Westminster…. This race suits. Certain placegetter. @1.60
NR R6 #8 Fasnatic…. Will take a more forward position this time and work home into a place. @$3
NR R8 #3..Regansburg…. ran well first up and with repeat of that will play a part. @$2.50

Tri paid $700 I think MT79.

Poor day for us yesterday BUT the advantages of Betfair baceame more obvious yesterday. I backed Aunty Betty at $8.50 ($7.50 after the reduction due to a late scratching). The TAB price?? About $4.00. It's crazy isn't it?

Why would anyone bet with the TAB anymore. You now have the choice to win lots more money. It's a simple question...'Dear Sir or madam, would you like to win more money. Yes or No?" If No, carry on betting with the TAB.

Even http://www.iasbet.com put Aunty Betty up in the morning at $6.50 so there really are no excuses. If you still bet with the TAB then please please please get a fixed odds account but more importantly get a Betfair account opened. $10 on Aunty Betty yesterday with the TAB and you are lucky to make $30. $10 on Aunty Betty with Betfair and even if you mucked up totally by missing the top prices you would still have come away with at least $50 clear profit.

If you want to make your punting pay forget PUNITAB.

We race today at Wyong, Ballarat, Ipswich and Northam...though with the weather in Sydney I would not be surprised to see Wyong abandoned.

Check for updates from 12pm.

AG

have been following the war between betfair and the other states of Australia?

they are in tassie and i know a few people who punt through that and take quaddies through SUPERTAB.

I THINK that racing victoria etc dont want betfair because it promotes cheating and race fixing (well it happens now anyway) but tasmania has embraced it and betfair sponsor a number of races in tassie.
apparently betfair wanted to sponsor country race meetings.

im only going on what i have roughly heard about the place.

Yes 3 out of 5 with $2.10 $2.00 and $4.10 divies....cant complain...spent $95..... return for day $155.80....... Total Pool back to $439.80.
Victory is Sweet was most unlucky and will go straight into the black book.... caught behind a wall of horses it had no where to go till the last 100m and the bird had flown.... it flew home for fourth (paying about $4 place)....It will be winning a maiden in SE Qld very soon!!!!!...so we were a little unlucky on the day.......till tommorow ...GRUB

Well Friday I am usualy not to keen on BUT I am ultra confident of a profit today...$22 PLACE on all 5 bets.

NR R8 #3 Hipwell.....grand campaigner who will get all the favours today...top hoop aboard.
NR R9 #4 Amaizing Lady.... fit now and ready to produce. Load up.
CR R5 #2 Wrapped in Gold... is one of two Barbara Joseph horses running in this race and I think they have it between them. WRAPPED IN GOLD boasts some very good form and last time out won very easily in a fair time here at the track. It looks very much like this four year old gelding has quite a bit more to show us and with Tye Angland taking 2kg off he looks sure to be there at the finish.
CR R7 #7 Krisandrios.... just went under last start and should have won, each way SPESH.
VR R5 #5 Funover.......looking for this distance now..... should put in a bold bid.

AR R7 #2 Chickaloo…. Loves Cheltenham and getting out to the right distance. Will cross from an outside barrier into the death and give us a bold sight. Looking for $3.50

AR R6 #12 El Siegneur – Should have won first-up last time when Kayla Stra almost fell off. Should make a bee line for the home turn and will be out in the better going for the first half of the race. Will be an outsider but trialled well in private at Oakbank a week ago. Looking for $10

BR R3 #2 Sea Zulu – Smart 4yo who is a city class horse, rarely far from the action and a cert the drum. Looking for $2.20

MR R7 #6 Zipping – Will like the open expances of Flemington and WILL work home nicely into a place behind Our Smoking Joe. The wetter the beter. Looking for $2.60
