Tell me more about it Joker - can you play for free or is it all $$$? I've seen the adverts with Joe Hachem or whatever his name it. I've just started playing facebook poker again after a long spell. Trying to crack the 1 mill!

Yu certainly can. Wen you join u get 1000 in play money to go nuts with.If you lose, they give you another 1000 and so on and so on...

The theory is that you will get sick of playing pretend money and open an account.

Its quite fun.

I play everynight.

My alias name is *********

It's private. ;)

I have built up a massive bank. $$$$ Over $1M

It is a fabulous game and there is a lot to learn.

I am trying to qualify for the poker championships in sydney.

I have a lot to learn

They have even tried to bribe me by giving me $5 real money to play with.

I am wise enough to know I am a born Loser.

And never gamble for real money. I spend about $5 a year on poker machines in pubs.

If I bet on a horse, it usually falls over.

If I bet on footy, My team loses by 10 goals.
Smile :)

It's only Money $$$ :)

What is happening to our SANFL guys...

I've also just recently discovered pokerstars.

The only thing that annoys me are all the dicks that go all in pre-flop, sorta takes the fun out of it.

I'm on about $15k at the minute.

You'd think that would stop when playing real money SnG's but that's not always the case (although does appear to have improved).

Zippy, when I say I don't trust it, I mean more that Im still a bit suspicious at the regularity of runner-runner on the turn & river ... I know these things happen in a live face-to-face game, but I've played plenty of F2F tourny's and never seen it happen anywhere near as often as it does on Stars (nor does it happen as much on Tilt or PKR for that matter).

Oddly enough, it often seems to happen when you are closing in on earning a promo bonus.

I only play in free roll tournys on there
Its 'proper' poker then and everyone plays that way, no all-ins unless warranted
There is one for Oz and NZ every night at 7pm

Sounds good, I'm going to check it out. Facebook poker is surprisingly good though, they have a weekly tournament too which keeps the shenanigans down a bit

Have noticed this I think eventually, after beating a few hundred thousand people, you can win a seat to the next ANZPT event in Melb? Certainly worth a look if you are any good alas I am not.

I only play Party Poker at the moment, no matter who you are with there are always rumours of bots that know what your holding etc

have a read of this - http://www.absolutepokerscandal.com/

People say there are more bad beats in online poker than live poker but thats cause you see so many more hands in online poker

There is $$$ to be made if you have the game, over $20billion is punted every year in online poker, over half of that is people playing for relaxation/fun and not serious about winning, therefore a lot of good money to be had if you want to take it seriously

with the right game its pretty easy to turn $20 into $500 over time

Fascinating read Dutchy, and something I hadn't heard of .. I'd always doubted whether these mobs couldn't run bot players of their own to effectively rake money back in for the house.

I've had the theory that you see more hands so you see more BB's put to me before by an extremely experienced player, but Im still not so sure on that ... I guess when you decide to play online, thats the risk you take.

I play on Bwin which was previously Pokerroom. I play real money low stakes (25c/50c tables). Put US$20 on about three weeks ago and have probably had 30 or so hours of enjoyment (I only play weekends). In that amount of time I've even managed to double my stack!

I can't speak highly enough of the site.

Did the same thing Ash, got pissed on the sunday and forgot about it. Have made the 2nd stage of those hubble free tourneys 5 or 6 times, and won a real money $5 tourney once.
Been playing Pokerstars on/off for about 5 years, have played on a few other sites they're all the same - Good Rivers Bad Rivers
