There has been some s***t flung and some flung back about the farmers.IF have always been a club for internal strife. In the SAFA days of 77 Div1 runner ups and 84 div 2 premiership there was problems.. Over the last 10 yrs there has been some poor decisions from the commitees that have sat in this time.(10 yrs ago the doors were almost shut on all of IF). There were coaching appointments of Rowe, Maschotta, Lord and all gone in no time when the players werent happy even when things were looking better. So who hired these blokes and fired them? The club then made there best appointment for yrs maybe since Maurie Francou or Ray Hayes to appoint Chris Kellett. The club was moving fwd and over a couple of yrs the spting management approached some ex older players from the 70s/80s to lead and steer the committee. In the end 2005 Div 5 premieership was one, much over due with some of the players who were still there or had gone, so they had under achieved. Players like Ben Noske SAAFL rep player and a bloody good one were in the side plus some other good youngsters. The club moved to Div 4 its highest grade for years. What ever happened i dont know but in 2006 no Chris Kellett and the new formation of commitee had departed and blokes like Ben were on the move. So who was to blame for this wise move. Div 4 the side was competitive early but then things went pear up the side fell away. In 2007 the club went thru 3 or 4 coaches who appointed them the place was in kaos and down to Div5. 2008 lead to the club just staying up but there bees knees and yes there was some promise with the kids but not heaps.I believe the club wanted a different direction for there long term future so they moved on to a new coach who is to say this is or isnt the best path. so most of these wise decisions werent made by the current people and it started 10 yrs ago or longer.
in the end the club has no real commitee so instead of the slander get on it and help out and have your say in the appropriate manner the club hasnt had to many people that want to get there hands dirty on the direction the club should take. the club has had appalling of field discipline both inside and outside its premises.
Players dont run the club they play the gameand if they wanna piss of when things arent to there liking well there not in it for the long haul anyway. As someone said Respect is EARNED not a GIVEN. Its gained not only on field but also off field in the way you conduct yourself and thats how a club earns RESPECT. and no im not a saint but a realist.
