Anzac Day What happened at your game

Postby Iwasthere84 » Sun Apr 26, 2009 1:11 pm

Was at the PAOC v Adel Luth game Expecting a line up, bugle, minutes silence......Nothing, very disappointed in the home team. How did your club prepare for Anzac Day?

I was at Paralowie and they did a great job with a bugle player and the teams lined up and the minute silence. Well done to the people at Paralowie who organised this.

SMOSH did a good job with the last post and national anthem. There was a lack of shelter at the college, but people seemed to have a good day regardless.

One huge oversight though - by SMOSH and the SAAFL. There were no showers available for either team. Pretty cr@p effort IMO. I would of thought the SAAFL would check out a venue before giving the all clear.

I never want to hear someone from SMOSH bag anyone elses facilities ever again.

I think the club was made aware that about 2 weeks ago that there was construction to the old changerooms which had showers in them, I know our A grade coach had looked into getting temporary showers in and wasn't having much luck, but that was the last I heard. Might ask what happened.

Good day at SMC though, jsut shame about the weather - probally cost the club a bit of revenue.

Weather did play havoc, thats for sure.

As soon as the absence of showers was discovered, the game should have been moved back to West Lakes. It would have been just as good of a day there. And you blokes would have made more money !!!

How sad!

Must have been a special day with a CANTEEN & PIE FLOATERS on Anzac Day and ..... a bbq van - soooo wish I was there.

No doubt Greenacres know how to put on a show.

Oh well as long as you were happy.

It's obvious MagareyLegend that you have no idea what ANZAC Day is all about.Pie Floaters are an ANZAC Day tradition, maybe next year you should go along a spend a day at an RSL club with the diggers and see how they spend their special day, instead of having a go at clubs that are trying to make ANZAC Day special for the War Veterans who attended the game !!!!!!
