After losing to a well drilled Salis Nth outfit last weekend, Port District must rebound on ANZAC Day vs tradtional rival Henley @ Largs.

Port Districts got off to a flyer against Salis Nth, kicking the first 4 goals of the game and controlling the midfield, but could not sustain the level for the remaining 3 qtrs.

Good to see Smitham back in the PDFC side and in form. Would like to see him play forward more - perhaps even 1 out in the square. He is a very very smart forward.

As for ANZAC Day, PDFC will need to get off to another flyer - otherwise things could get ugly. Henley, like Salis Nth, are very well drilled and need to closely checked thru the midfield.

If Catteral plays (instead of @ Centrals) that will be handy. Play him CHF and I reckon Christofis needs to play somewhere else other than CHF, perhaps on the ball (RUCK) or CHB, Higgs needs to play up forward, Kelly on a permanent Back Flank.

I hope the Districts boys can bounce back this Saturday!

Good luck getting Christofis to ruck, big mistake even asking him he will spit the dummy and fake general soreness.

Noticed on the SAAFL website that Pt Districts are having yet another Heritage Day.

I heard they made almost $3000 in 2007 and over $4000 in 2008 just from selling the match day jumpers post game (that was before even a stubby was even sold over the bar or a sausage sold from the BBQ).

Obvioulsy it has been a great off field fundraiser. I think former player Jarrad Meers got this initiative off the ground a few years back. Not too sure who is doing it in 2009, seeing Meers is at West Adelaide??? I see this year they are doing a "Premiership Jumper" for thsi year's match.

SMOSH West Lakes have jumped on board the Heritage Day idea, they are also having a Heritage Day this weekend and are playing at the College instead of Bartley Tce.

No we were beaten by the better side. Up with them until well into the game and then fell away again. Sorry to upset your evening but the girls in the port have just been looking at all of our Premiership cups and flags. Oh shit - sorry thats something you have not ever done. Win in September and then maybe shoot your mouth off dopey. All that money and still nothing to show for it. How embarrassing

Very well put District Boy!!!

What I like is that as always the Salis Nth folk are spruking off in April. We all know they play & win their Grand Finals in April and May - because they dont in September.

It gave me great enjoyment to wonder over to the Salis Nth bar last weekend and have a hot beer and peruse their senior trophy cabinet. How many senior SAAFL premierships did they have in their - WAIT FOR IT!!

ONE - yes ONE! An furthermore it was a Div 11 (yes that's right Division Eleven).

:)) =)) =))

Lads - enough said - :-@

Enjoy your Rd 4 victory mate - but there is a long way to go!!

I think the districts coaching stuff looked like fools yest. Firstly Smitham was there best player on the ball last week and yest he didnt move out the goal square. Perfect weather for him i wouldve thought. And secondly Blake Davis named as 2nd best, what a joke. He tagged Colville and Colville got 2nd best for Henley, so one of them has to be wrong. I know who. Davis couldnt go with him, and probably had 5 touches to colvilles 20-odd. Seems as tho Davis is the new love child, when not many rate him. Very confusing....If Davis keeps playing A's Districts have no depth.

So in your mind theres always a love child of the coach down there at Districts?
You must be a little jealous you wern't loved down there as a player 1 Eyed. ( maybe coz you couldn't play )
Your assessment of the game- was that made after the game? It wouldn't surprise me if it was, maybe you should take up coaching & make your assessments( should of moves ) during the game not after the game like all the want to be's do if they could of been!

colville would have been lucky if he had 10 touches dont no what game you were watchin. sounds like your a good clubman having a dig at a bloke who is just out there having a crack, so is your problem with blake or the coaching staff! the team doesnt just revolve around smitham

im guessing you werent watching the game, maybe you were at the bar having a few beers. Colville had a least 10 clearances and he dominated early, thats when a move shouldve been made. I guess you dont do the stats.
Thats exactly my point they do have depth so how the hell is he getting a game when he has no skill, footy smarts or fitness. Play a kid that actually might get a kick. And No-mercy ive never played at Districts wouldnt want to under the current coach anyway. And my assesments are made during the game not after, cause Blake, shepley and a few other shouldnt even be getting a game. I know Blake is one of Alf's favourites and Alf influences Rick alot, Rick wont make his own decision. Everyone needs a yes man i guess.
