Walker also played well.
I don't know their ruckman but he also looked in good nick.
Lameroo has a very formidable side, good depth especially in their midfield.
Philbey was on fire and played really well although they were very one-dimensional through him.
That being said, no one could stop him so I don't blame them.
Rod Maynard doing a lot of 1 on 1 coaching with players at the breaks, pulling players aside and giving them some guidance, looks like a good leadership team there.

Ruckman would have been Ben Grieger, played league for westies at centre half back/Full back

Have it on good information that J.Graetz was not cleared from Ironbank FC this weekend, yet J.Graetz features for Karoonda in the Sunday Mail. Would suggest the paperwork has not been completed for this clearance, something for Peake to investigate I think.

Peake definately played well, great start with the first 3 goals, some real quick players, scores were tied at 5.1 a piece at half time and then i think peake only kicked 1 or 2 more goals for the match, was a real mud wrestle in crappy conditions

I reckon that the karoonda boys should be disappointed with saturdays result. with the dollars spent this year they would hae wanted to beat peake by a lot more than they did if they hope to live up to their own hype so far this year. Peake didnt even have a full list of players to choose from due to several players being unavailable due to a wedding! Karoonda were the better team on the day, but not enough to justify their expenditure. i doubt they will even seriously challenge the other 4 sides in the league.

Pinnaroo
3-4
5-5
5-8
8-8 56

Murrayville
1-1
4-2
4-4
7-5 47

Pinnaroo and Murrayville had a close battle in very trying conditions at Pinnaroo with Pinnaroo getting home by 9 points.

The lines had been washed off the oval before the A grade started and the boundary umpires job was made difficult by have to wade rather than run the boundary!

The Super Roos kicked with the wind in the 1st quarter and were up by 15 points at the break.

Murrayville hit back with the aid of the wind in the 2nd quarter with Pinnaroo scoring 2 crucial goals into the wind, leaving the Dogs trailing by 9 points at the main break.

In the third quarter Murrayville defended well against the wind with no goals being scored by either side.

The Bulldogs scored the first goal in the last quarter to narrow the margian to 4 points before Pinnaroo scored the next two in quick succession to effectively kill off the game.

I might have underestimated our team, but our list of outs is as long as karoondas list of ins this year. if peake are going to improve, where will it be from? with some of the numbers that it is suggested karoonda has spent, i would have expected a fifteen goal flogging on the weekend, despite the wet conditions! as it was, maybe peake havent lost as much ground as i thought, but i also dont think karoonda has gained as much as has been suggested either. time will tell, and knowing my luck i will probably be wrong! :D

You can't just stick a bunch of good players on the ground and expect them to dominate from the start. Give Karoonda time to gel and find their feet, I reckon you'll find they should improve significantly as the year goes on.

spot on SS, your talking about a team with 15 new players sharing a pre-season and a internal trial, but not actually playing as a team before. cant blame the conditions because obviously both teams were effected by it, give it time and watch the boys get to know how each other play then make your judgment after round 5

karooonda should be happy to get the points sat!!! its been 12 months between getting the points!! i was at the game and there was a fair wind goin down the ground so therefore one quarter was all out attack and the next was just defending with a couple guys loose keepin hold of the footy hence why the 15 goal margin wasnt to be had tipper!!!!

I was there as well, and i played in the rain and wind in the B's, and Karooda did defend well in the third quarter, but they only really got in front in the last. with the number of b graders and colts playing for peake can you honestly say you had a good result? Have a look at the Karoonda 2009 thread and see how much people have been pumping you guys up. Yes there should be improvement in the coming weeks, but so should the other sides in the league. Peake were playing good footy at the end of last season, but it just wasnt good enough. Of course it is good tyo get the points, but that doesnt mean you have to be happy with the result.

i agree with tripper and as i said earlyer yes a win is a win and i'm sure you guys will take take but at the end of the day i think the point every1 is trying to make is there has been alot of noise about karoonda in seaon 2009 and if you guys are to live up to that noise you would think you'd have to beat a very young undermanned peake by more than 5 or 6 or what ever it was to knock off BDT,lameroo, pinneroo and the ville.

That is my point exactly. i didnt see anything on sat that justified all the talk. yes they won, but it was only peake! and it took them till the last quarter to do it. can any of you karoonda supporters honestly tell me you werent worried at half time?
