Gaza had more scoring shots could have been a different story if they kicked straight?

The umpires might as well have been kicking for goals for them. Disgraceful display from them. Gaza (umps) may have had more shots on goal but they didn't deserve to win. Gullies never hit there straps during the game but did enough to win the game.

Yeah Modbury found out what its like to play a successful div 1 club that the umpires know their players.... some very inconsistant decisions and some blatant with 3 or 4 directly resulting in goals. They ruined a good contest. Goodies also kicked a goal after the siren which flattered there performance.

Yeah mate, Benny Noske is working his way back after his knee reco late last year. Played B Grade against Gaza and was loving just being out there again. Should slot straight back into the A Grade.

He was in the best players nearly every week last year - good for TTG if he can work his way back up to his best - just in time for finals 8)

Good to see BOG award going to a supporter last weekend for Geppies. Was it really that hard to pick someone?

Looks like your penname has come back to bite you 'Marbles", you must have lost them. Josh Taylor best for Gepps and he was certainly not in the crowd as a supporter!

im a big wrap for the gullies and was suprised to see them fade at the end of 08. noske being back is massive as he would be one of the state u/23 on ballers when fit. i do however think henley are the real deal in 09 and think all the big signings are gelling to form the most formidable unit in saafl. henley by 11-20 for mine.

OK now it has come to my attention that in last weeks round of Div 1 Matches that a Life Member of a club umpired a game involving the club he is a life member of..... His performance was questionable and surely something has to be done in future to stop this occuring?

Was that the Modbury Vs Goody Saints game by any chance?

I agree a life member of a club shouldn't be umpiring his clubs games.

The ongoing problem, where do you find someone to umpire that doesn't have some type of affiliation with a club? You can't so until you can you need to go with what you can get.
Aside from that, are you saying a Life Member is cheating because that's how the post comes across.
Find the solution and you'll become very popular at SAAFL headquarters.

I agree its hard to find umpires without a form of affiliation, but this is Division 1.... Im not calling anyone a cheat im saying some of the decisions he made were very very inconsistant.

The standard of umpiring in all the other games this season A and B grade has been exceptional.

My tips for round 6

Match of the round
Henley vs TTG- After the first 5 rounds both teams have showed they are in for a good year. With it supposed to be a little wet it makes me go towards Henley by 20 pts.
Modbury vs Gepps Cross - This is also going to be a very good game of football. I think Gepps will get the points by 15-30pts but will be a good contest.
Rostrevor vs Pt District- After pushing Gepps Most of the way last week im going for Rostrevor by 30+ pts!!!
Gaza vs Sals North- Sals North to bounce back to the winning cicle with a commanding win letting teams know there still going to be a force this year!

ahhh still hanging on to the umpire thing, I actually think its a disadvantage to goodwood as he can go the other way quite often, but the facts are modbury as they often do get undiscipline and the umpires have to take control.

No moved on mate big game this week.... i posed a question a regarding choice of umpires and the affiliation they have with a club. Club Life Membership is a very high honour and means a person lives and breathes that club.....

And to say it is a disadvantage to the team.... you’re kidding yourself!

but the facts are Modbury as they often do get undiscipline and the umpires have to take control
Facts need to be substantiated by evidence... please enlighten me as to how you came up with that little fact
