All these cars that are breaking in 1/2 with terrible loss of life are all Japanese models..?

I seldom see a Ford, Holden, or Mitsubishi busted up like a WRX...

Just trying to create conversation guys.

Don't think it matters if a vehicle is travelling at a great rate of knots and it hits something it is going to split in two.

something to bear in mind if it's press/tv pictures of accidents you're looking at is that by the time they're allowed to photograph them the Fire Service have often had to cut people out so a lot of damage is done after the accident and makes it look far worse than it might have been.

You need to watch the news a bit more, Commodores torn in half (or more pieces) are a regularity mate.

Very true.

I know you come from the home of Holden Dog-ger but any vehicle that is driven at high speed can be split up like that. Not just Japanese stuff mate.

I think Ian's pictures tell the story, if you count "all" the news stories from around Australia everyday, 95% of car chases, car crashes etc will involve a commodore. This is common knowledge.

It would be interesting to see figures for the incidence of such crashes expressed as a percentage of the number of each model on the road so that we could see whether there is any evidence particular cars are more often involved in crashes than their distribution in the market would account for.

Mind you one Bugatti Veyron crash would make a big impact on the figures for that model... ;)

High speed crashes involving Commodores are so common because most of those involve stolen vehicles, High speed crashes from drag racing is a bit more evenley distributed around the more common(commodore etc.), and the high performance makes and models, just depends what the **** owns or is driving at the time
