Yep it will be a memorable match this one let's all race out to see a game where another stupid ruling agreed to by a piss weak SANFL to appease their AFL teams but with no regard for any intergrity for the SANFL comp. At least it should get some media coverage. There will be more highlights of this blockbuster on some channels than the league double header the next day because a handful of fulltime professional train every day well paid AFL players need a precious little run.
I wonder what Craigy would have said if this happened back when he was coach of Norwood and his then club was on the receiving end or Reid and Noble for that matter when they were senior coaches in the SANFL? Just goes to show they don't give a shit after all.

I wonder what Fuller told those Eagles ressies players who miss out to accomodate the "AFL stars" after all it was those players who busted their guts to drag them off bottom halfway through the year to get them to the finals.

Wat do any of their fringe players up for selection do this week to keep fit. Why don't we send them to a lesser grade to keep up match fitness? why not - because it would absurd and unfair. If the Dogs win this week, then knock off the Eagles and get a week off before the GF - what do any of their stars who may miss this week or next in my scenario who suddenly are fit and up for GF selection which could well be the case with one of the Gowans? Do we let them play in the week off in a lesser grade to get match fitness?. No we don't so why should we do the same with the Crows and Power players.
I have no problems with them playing in the SANFL League teams in finals as long as they are qualified by virtue of playing what ever is the reqd. minimum number of minor round games (currently 3 but should be at least 5) for their club but if they have not, then no way should they play and in no circumstances should they be allowed to in a grade 2 below their normal standard! Just treat both AFL clubs like a SANFL club come finals - if the ressies don't make it then the fringe and returning players just have to train as would any SANFL player in that circumstance if their clubs ressies hadn't made finals.

After all, the Eagles did not have their first win in the Reserves until Round 7.
Cheers!
