Not sure if he is nominating NFC, but I guess anyone with half a shot gets nominated nowadays. I think he would be lucky to be picked up, a little too light for most I would think. For his sake I hope he does, for the dogs sake I hope he doesn't. Particularly with Schells anticipated retirement at the end of this season.

Thanks mate. Yeh his build would have to be of concern, but surely that can be worked on. He’s only 19 and he’s still growing into his body. I would hope that doesn’t throw the scouts away.

Why is Schell retiring so young?

I think Westhoff is worth at least a spot on the rookie list. I've only seen him live at the Woodville Oval game this year and his hands and pick ups off the ground and mobility were sensational for a tall man. Missed a few shots, but apparently had kicked about 20.2 to that day???

Hentschel was a stick at that age as well. Clubs can build them up.

Yeh from the half dozen times I've seen him that was one of the things that stood out to me. His mobility is exceptional and ability to pick up ball off the deck is also very good. I would love to see the Crows give him a shot as I think he could develop into a very good player.

Yes, 20.2 up to that stage. He has 30.12 all up.

And also, I'd like to know why Schell is retiring for.

I don't think anything has been announced regarding Schell, however he was very close to retiring at the end of last season. I think his young family were the reason he was considering it last year (must be Catholic!). The heavy training schedules certainly take their toll in this area more than any other.

Regarding Westhoff, I would be rapt to see the kid drafted, but it would be a surprise to me. I didn't even consider rookie draft, I reckon either SA AFL club could take a punt on him.

Schell had personal issues, which hopefully have since been resolved, so he will more than likely stay.

I hope so, because if Westie does get drafted interstate we will be a bit short up forward.

I would be surprised if Westhoff wasn't drafted.

Bloody good footballer on his day.

Yeh I must say he's been very impressive too. A little older but has great skills and can find the footy.

Luckily there's another one in the reserves side... Perhaps we could ask their parents to start planning for the clubs future.
