Did this stat catch others besides me by suprise (Im sure it doesn't catch Central fans by suprise):

Central last final played at Adelaide Oval – 1972 Prelim (Lost to Port by 6pts)

I was amazed that they hadn't played a final there this century but in retrospect when I think about it, the only time they weren't minor premiers recently was when the finals were at Footy Park and besides that they've always gone straight through to the 2nd semi when only the first week's finals were played at Adelaide Oval as well as not losing a 2nd semi when the Prelim has been at Adelaide.

What an absolute powerhouse they've been this century!!

Damn I knew my cutting and pasting would come unstuck somewhere!
(Its a bloody long and arduous task transferring these stats from PDF format and copying and pasting seemed the quicker option after spending yonks on the South v Port stats)

Maybe I was just being hopeful as Roy Laird has a 6 zip record in the finals.

All fixed now. Thanks for pointing it out.

As you said, Dogs fans would be well aware of this one, but I for one am glad we finally get there in a final - it feels like we have missed out on something the last few years (aside from the flag of course!).

Yep, 1st semi and 2nd semi were definately at Footy Park last year, I remember North's loss to the Eagles all to well and was on the field at 3/4 time so I know it was definately Footy Pk.

Just for the record at Footy Park in the 2nd week of the finals last year:

Eagles 16-14 110
D
North 15-9 99

Central 12-12 84
D
Port 5-9 39

Yes i remember that well also :(
That third quarter was wonderful but the Eages were just too good in the end, a great game though.

I cant wait for this game if the match at Hamra was anything to go by, i hope North take the same physical approach into this game, they were tough at the man and the ball that night. If we are 40 points up in the last term i dont want it to get back to 2 though!

The team might be slightly out (I got the forwards, centre line and on ballers spot on) but I have the squad right, I got this off the radio and they read it out pretty quick:

F: Gill Hargraves Younie
HF: Krieg Alleway Gatto
C: Ryswyk Ladhams Bamford
HB: Coulter Koops Ivens
B: McIntyre Schubert D.Ebert

1R: Hudson Howard Wintle

I/C (from) : O'Hara Edwards Martin Walker M.Campbell

In: Hudson, Gill, Krieg, Koops
Out: Wakelin, R.Ebert

Central also named a squad of 23 with J. Gowans and D.Schell coming back in and C.Gowans staying in. Mullins was the only bloke out at this stage.

I want both sides to beat each other up on the field. I prefer to play North over the Dogs any day, if you look at the Eagles form against the Dogs in the finals.
