A look ahead to the 2nd semi final

Just sitting down in front of the computer pondering the possible side for the game next sunday and I've come up with a squad of around 27 players the Eagles will most likely choose from. With talent coming back from the AFL it puts us in a envious position with talent galore to choose from. So here's my possible squad:

Centrals were good today but it was against an under strength North side so there challenge ahead is a lot more difficult than that of this week. send me your opinions.

This is obviously very biased - but so many times we've come up with a WWT side in the past chock full of talent and including AFL stars (what a nursery the Eagles have been in the past 15 years!), and your guys will be shitting bricks going into next season's finals.

Our boys have a lot of self belief going into the game and they showed today that although we've had a dodgy season compared to the past six, they can match it. North had lots of players out today, but they beat us by two points two weeks ago. So it's a worthy victory on our behalf.

I started a thread last week asking how North/Eagles fans are feeling about the upcoming finals knowing they are the faves and not the Dogs. And today showed why they should be scared.

We might not win the flag this year, but we will frighten you both, and we are going to be a very big force to face next season. If we win this one, I think it will be a massive bonus - because the Eagles and North were clearly the best sides during the minor round.

Not biased at all Dogwatcher. I was jus merely pointing out it will be a tougher test next week. North were missing 4+ stars from first 21 where as the Eagles will be close to full strength. I've seen what you've done to us in the past so I'm not suggesting it would be a cakewalk but on paper our side looks impressive and will take some beating. All the best for next week it should be a cracker, may the best team win.

as a neutral observer if i was in the EAGLES corner id be very very worried.

North may have had a couple of players missing but CENTRAL just DOMINATED.

in the 3rd quarter the RED of the ROOSTERS shirts were more like the RED CONES at TRAINING.

The Eagles will have a very strong squad but CENTRALS do hold the mental advantage!!!!!!

it will be a cracker of a match but id expect the doggies to get up.

expect Westbrook,Skipworth, Vince and McGegor to
play in the league next week.
The eagles will feel intimidated with Centrals effort in a
final AGAIN.
Will they suffer from a INFERIORITY CENTRALEX again ?

With the quality of the AFL talent coming back in they would be unlucky casualties. Both in very good form in the ressies but will more than likely not make the cut. We have too many other forward line options for Oaks to be considered.

i think vince will play, fairclough will be an out. not sure about lomas they all should have been in that squad. I'll edit that now.

Yes, a very strong side and one worthy of starting as favourites for the flag this year. However, you can omit McGregor from that list. Fuller has publicly stated that he will not play him at the expense of someone who has played all year. I say well done to Ronnie on that tough call!

Not sure about that one because if he played next week that would make 3 games which would qualify him. Having said that I haven't heard the said interview.

Not certain. Thought it was 3 full stop. To confuse the issue you have thge rule of AFL players while there team is competing in finals. Anyone that could help us exactly clarify the ruling as it stands would be appreciated.

In 1998 Modra wasnt eliagle for the GF is west qualified

Already been through this - 3 games in the minor round to qualify for the GF. However whilst an AFL team is still alive it is open slather for every game before that.

megregor can play if not selected, while the crows are alive, all in isnt it to non selected players, if the crows lose next week, the next day is the last the players can play

If i'm interpreting that correctly that means because McGregor only played only 1 minor round game he is then only eligible to keep playing whilst the Crows are alive and he's not selected. As the AFL GF is a week before the SANFL that would mean that he's not eligible to play in the SANFL GF if eagles make it of course. Hence that's why fuller has stated publicly apparently that he will be not selected in the 1's next week. Pity who we play in the 2's then because that would most likely mean he would play there if not selected by the Crows. I hope I've got that correct.
