So everytime and umpire tries to break up a fight, he deserves a punch in the face?

On one hand we have people saying umpires do nothing to take control and on the other we say they get too close in trying to take control? Which one is it?

An umpire should not be in there 'physically' trying to break up a fight
Grab the ball throw it up or award a free to make the ball the main objective again

Q, obviously I wasnt there and I am only going by what has been said on here

If you were in a scuffle and someone grabbed you from behind your first reaction would be to swing
Hence, umpires should not get involved physically.

The siren had gone for half time. Obviously you would ball it up if play was still going. I'm not an umpire, I don't know what I'd do in that situation to break up a fight, I'd probably just let them beat the sh*t out of each other and grab myself a drink ;)

That's a bit of a stretch, there was a wrestle, but no one choked or eye-gouged anyone else.

Gee you talk about someone 'hitting' the umpire and then you talk about things being a bit of a stretch?
You're really starting to reek of sour grapes mate

LMAO, sorry I did not word it to your perfection, is 'forceful contact' better for you? Since when was talking about the tribunal a case of sour grapes, get off it.

lol How about being gracious in defeat?
Little late for that though

Explain how I have been ungracious? If I was so cut by the win, why would I come into your clubrooms for a drink. I had a chat with the Riddler and Hazza, where were you, to scared to come say hello?

I think you'll find I got over the loss after the team had a chat in the changerooms. I move on quickly from both wins and losses.

Of course I will be defensive about you making unfounded accusations, which was clearly directed at me no matter how much you want to deflect it in your last sentence. Easy for you to make them as an anonymous keyboard warrior to someone who makes no secret of their identity, what a hero you are

Keyboard warrior? lol
There really is no need to get so defensive over nothing and have a go at me mate. Im just here to give my opinion on what i see and hear. At first that was just you coming on and taking some gloss off Saint Pauls win by talking about 'cheap shots' and we've already heard about the clear issues some of your players/coaching staff had after the game. You can ignore that all you want but that fact of the matter is Houghton were not gracious in defeat and it was really poor form to come on here afterwards complaining about cheap shots and the crowd (not just you)

If saying that makes me a hero ill take it
;)

Clearly you have trouble reading. All these points have already been addressed and counter-pointed. Please do not talk to me about 'grace' when you are re-hashing closed arguments.

No trouble reading here at all mate
I was just giving my opinion on the matter :D
Good luck for the rest of the year, hopefully your guys can learn from the mistakes they made after this game and there wont be any more complaining afterwards on here ;)

If it was Pugsly he probably spotted a half eaten pie or sausage roll on the ground and was trying to force his way through the wrestling players to get it.

Can confirm a couple of things Quichey. Pugsly is a better umpire than your club umpire on Saturday and I hope you can pull Pugs out of the canteen and back into his XXL Orange shirt.

While both actions shouldn't condoned, the Houghton Club umpire did have a hold of the St.Pauls player before the reported incident. Will be interesting to see how the SAAFL tribunal reacts.

Don't care what anyone says, Pugsley must have been in there some where & the bite marks prove it, bet if this player was was checked over there would have been traces of chicken salt around the wound.

Well, the player in question does traditionally smell like sausage rolls, I think we have our answer...

Ahhh Ambo... Don't ever make the assumption that these threads are designed for 'insightful, factual information'. They are purely for comedy purposes as most people know... ;) Same goes for that damn Politics thread....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Well ya I should of guessed.. another assumption of mine is that some of these guys are coaches also?? and would want to maybe cop whatever on the chin and say very little, so it doesnt come back and bite them.. keep some integrity maybe.. lol.
Quite easy for me to say.. No one from Adel Uni has bagged our effort as of yet!
