he might've played rd 1, hard to remember back that far already! Sammy's a loose cannon, had a really hard time with a split from his missus and a few repercusions from that and that'd be the reason he left i'd say. did some silly things and can't face some people, plus his ex is one of our current players sister IIRC and there's some bad feelings there, as i said, Sammy did some silly things! best of luck to him though.

Yes he can be a bit of a loose cannon was that way when a Broadview. The company he keeps doesn't help and the things that they are into
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Every Club has a few of those type of characters.. Rough Nuts, Loose Cannons that hang with questionable characters.
Most bring that hard edge to a club that some of the silky skilled player can't.
As long as they are dedicated to the club and give 100%.. who cares what they do away from it.

we're fortunate enough not to be in the spotlight for everything we do. IMO it does matter what blokes do outside the footy club, although it is their business they tend to drag some of that outside influence into a footy club... one or two you may be able to handle but as soon as you get half a dozen who are into the same things, (heavy drugs, crime etc) they firstly bring their mates out and then you have 12 and secondly can slowly eat away at other players, especially young blokes who are easier to influence...

i agree that you need blokes who are a little rough around the edges, otherwise you'd be a uni side... but those are the players that give you a bad reputation, especially if you have a couple of them.

NG.. you can have concerns for what guys do away from the club, but cant influence it.
So the only result is stop it at the Clubhouse door & as Captains/Coaches take the easier influence ones under our wings.

a nice way to get my first win for the club.

I recognised Terry Zepvos when we played you guys in Round 7. Ex-Western Warriors gun who Brodie Jessop would get me to tag - a handy addition for you guys once he gets fully fit.

Who me ??

I'm still on the Cats support bandwagon.... ;)
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

haha... might have to start a campaign like the Crows... #19... we need you!!!

on second thoughts, that's crap!!!

all those on the bandwagon don't be dismayed at our first half of the year results. as i have said in other threads, we are on the improve and to only go down by 2 goals to St Pauls who are equal top is a very good effort and we look to take that kind of intensity into our next few matches.

we have 3 very winnable games in the next few weeks and should we come out with 3 wins will be on the cusp of the top 5. then the last 6 will be interesting, we play Flinders and Adelaide Uni @ home which we can and should win then the top 4 we have away which will be tough to say the least.

so if we win the 5 that i beleive we should on the way home and knock off one of the top 4 we will give oursleves every chance of slotting into 5th spot. and IIRC in 2004 Henley won the GF after finishing 5th... (mongrels won 4 GFs that year, Div2, 2R, 7, 7R)

we've made it difficult for ourselves but i know we can do it! all those on the bandwagon stick around and those who love an underdog jump on board, it's gonna be a rough ride, but that's how we like it.

If you have had a past association with, ex player, current player, lifemember or had a soft spot for the Ovingham Football Club then we need you...
The SAAFL are willing to help us work towards survival... but we need a group of dedicated people to help with solving the current situation.

We need to form a committee from the very top as all positions are vacant.. with the only positions held being resigned last night.
I would love to continue as Coach at Ovingham, but it will take alot more than myself and a few individuals to keep it alive.

Clubrooms will be open as per normal on Saturday afternoon to see if we can resolve some issues... come have a quiet beer and a chat

All are invited.. Cheers

hey ambo good luck with the ride ahead, sorry to hear about the state of the club.i will tell Klompy at work tomorrow about all this and tell him to go down for a drink and a look after we finish work tomoz coz im sure he would still be interested in his old club specially as he is a former captain and 2 times premiership player of the cats.Does this open the door for Heather Sandford to return to the club which she ran for 20 years?
