Big news???? Couldn't have been a nice job this year. I think most people would understand? Was their a push to get rid of him or any underlying issues.

I think youll find o'connor warned the club about going into a2 as they hadnt prepared for it ,but the club expected a few wins by now.

I believe Steve O'Connor has asked to be reappointed as coach for next year at Kilburn so he can get on with recruiting etc & have them ready early not like the farce that occured with them going up to Div2 at late notice.
I believe its fallen on feaf ears as the club wants to wait til the end of the year before announcing their coach.
Its amazing half these people that made the decision earlier on ( to go up to Div2 ) have jumped ship after not listening to Ocka in the first place. ( for those that don't know he didn't want to go up )
My mail is if he's not re-appointed quickly it will be by by Kilburn & he'll be off seeking a job elsewhere.

I hope they can get back on track quickly as there are ways of being relegated either with a view to the future or the freefall relegation which is hard to recover from.

Pembroke v Kilburn- Easy 60+
Athelstone v Payenham- Athelstone tough at home but if Payenham are a top 2 side they'll win. 11-20
Broadview v Eastern Pk - The Tigers at home will give the Parks their first loss for a while. 21-30
Adel Uni v PHOS- Phos a far better side than Uni & will win 21-30.
Flinders Pk v Seaton- Seaton are in real trouble & after Sat's game there will be alot of question asked as to why they have fallen away after alot of hype early in the year. 31-40

Payneham over Athelstone in a close one. payneham are still a good side for sure
Eastern Park over Broadies of course
Phos over Uni - uni always seem to be losing at home

My mail is good mail & what you have to understand is if someone has mail ( rumour ) of something from a club & that club finds out -what do you think they are gonna do?
I think they'll do everything they can to deny the matter & in due course fix it.

Why so critical of this situation? If Ocka didn't want to go up why didn;t he just pull the pin when they went against his judgement?

If a coach says it's not a good idea to go up (knowing they can't survive there), and a club says we'll go up anyway then everyone is being set up to fail. Wouldn't have let the door hit me in the ar*e on the way out if it was me.

Except for the fact he has been out of the coaching game for several years, one of the most astute football brains I have seen. He will "teach" the kids at Kilburn - not rely on the "stars" to get the job done (as O'Connor does).

Despite the "89 Prelim Final, which was a disaster - his record is pretty good.

Funny side note - his B grade coach is the only bloke to have put Bomber to sleep on a footy field - funny story that!
