As far as I know, Brett James is the only player to have a longer current consecutive run than O'Hara - 126 matches, which started in the Elimination Final of 2000.

I didn't know that, actually, but that's quite impressive.

However, that is still not the longest I know of.

Scott Morphett had an unbroken run from Round 12 1988 to Round 9 1996 - a total of 178 matches. 53 were with Torrens and 125 for Eagles.

dropping ohara is pretty huge seeing as its cut throat and for him to be dropped in such an important game goes to show you the coaching staff have lost faith in him...otherwise they would have kept him him...will he get pissed off and jump ship??? hmmm..

It's amazing how fast downhill O'Hara has gone this season. Can't say I'm sad to see him dropped. Perhaps Luke Toia will be on the phone telling him there is a great club over in WA for him to play next season. If the Eagles do play North again I hope they pick him. Has been thoroughly entertaining watching Lindsay destroy him this year.

Assuming you are correct there is a differnce of roughly 12 clashes between ur 1907 stas and when ever sturt entered which wasnt 12 matches against north before 1907 was it? Or mabee back then they played 3 or 4 times a year

There is no doubt that NA will be significantly strengthened by their “Ins” this week and this should lead to a better performance against South. Both teams play a similar style of game – very attacking - and Id like to be able to pick the team that will pay most attention to their defensive action. Trouble is I just don’t know who that will be? South tend to play catch –up footy a bit. At times they have got away with it (like last week) but if NA get out to a significant lead then I think they will be better at holding off a challenge than Port were last week. Really I cant pick a winner with any conviction but Ill go with South. This is based purely on the fact that NA appear to have quite a few niggly injury concerns and a forward line that will find it difficult to put pressure on and close down South’s running backline. A backline which is the key to South’s game and from which many of their attacks are built. South by 10-20.

Very good point about souths running back line. Surely Pyman is thinking of playing Carlile on Hargraves and running him ragged.

What will be Jarmans plan to combat this?

i like SOUTH i think they are primed to run NORTH rugged and i think SOUTHS defence is a little stronger then norths

Well South hasn't beaten North in 3 attempts this year despite North giving them a 6 goal headstart inthe first 15 minutes in the first encounter (Round 2) and then a 33 point halftime lead the second time they met. South hold no fear for North but confidence is a big factor and Norths is in serious doubt after last week where as South wil be on a high. Should (?) be a good game but whoever wins will win easily because of the style of games both play IMO

THATS correct that SOUTH have had chances this year to defeat NORTH, but now they are playing their best footy of the season and i believe the confidence from last week will hold them in good stead

Thats right scores were LOW back then so thats why its ridiculous to compare North's 89 GF score with Port's 100 years ago
