Ask people like Scott Camporeale, Corey McKernan, Hickmott and a few others why they didn't want to continue. That's why Pagan's not there any more.

Also, why wouldn't other clubs be jumping to sign him up if he was still revered.

All those players were finished as was Pagan's career as a coach. He hadn't moved with the time. He was still coaching with a '90's style but it was the beginning of a new decade and a new style of footy with different coaching strategies.

If Fev were on the market there would be 15 teams showing interest bottom line.

Hardly the same. Its funny seeing people who don't support the Blues on the Blues forum!!!

Essendon out played the Blues on the weekend but they won't amount to much. People quickly forget that Carlton were only beaten by 9 points against the Saints a week ago and have lost a number of games by less than 10 points this season.

Nothing to worry about, just young players ganing experience and being better for it. All teams go through it. Geelong and Hawthorn did in the last 5 or so years

People also quickly forget that Carlton can't beat St Kilda, Geelong, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, Adelaide, Essendon or Sydney but apparently they're coming. If they don't start ending some of these hoodoos it will be the Blue who won't amount to much.

This is happening way to much and it's scary but, I TOTALLY  agree with your above post REB.

This year was supposed to be another step up as last year was. Instead there is less pasion for the contest then I seen last year and no improvement in gameplan.

When I kept arguing with you earlier in the year REB, I think I was seeing something that just isn't there atm. Now I find myself agreeing with you about not only what you have to say now, but also those things I was vehemently opposed to earlier in the year.

You can catch me pedalling backwards down your street in the near future ;) .

You really see anything we can hang our hat on. Nothing has changed and if anything, we've gotten worse. We can't win a close game to save our lives this year and we haven't beaten anyone important who we couldn't beat last year. Surly after the 7 or 8 years we've had you would want to see year by year improvement. It's not happening!

At least we're getting close this year. I'd take losing 5 or so games under 20 pts rather than getting blown out of the water week in week out like we were under Pagan.

I don't get it Voice, you sagreed with me when I said we have no depth, and struggle with big bodies yet we're supposed to be top 4 and win every close game? Be realistic. Only if everything under the sun went right for us we could even dream of being top 4 this season (given that the top 4 from last season weren't expected to drop much this season). Playing finals is a good possibility and realistically we should be happy to be sitting in the 8 now given those games we've dropped in close ones.

Don't get me wrong, I was pi$$ed last week but let's hope that's a once of, not a return to the bad old days.

To say we've gone nowhere is simply a silly comment. Even if you just look at our percentage - that's a massive improvement on recent years when we tended to get beaten heavily often.

I can hang my hat on quite a few things. However we always tend to focus on the bad. The development of our non-existent backline has been sensational. Hampson, Jacobs, Joseph, Garlett has added depth, remembering we've got a 19yo leading our ruck and no CHF - but hey I'm the first to admit we need more experience and consistency if we're going to catch the likes of the Saints and Geelong. Be patient!

Joseph is one that might but the hard in and under player the midfield needs. I guess time will tell.
Also that back line needs some work, maybe bring back sos.

The backline will be OK.

We haven't had our best back 6 all season with either Jamo, Bower, T-Bird or Waite injured...

More then happy how that's progressing, it's just the midfield and forwards now that need a bit of work.

Carlton will be wearing a Yellow Jumper this week to raise Cancer awareness in association with Lance Armstong and the Livestrong foundation.

Yellow to symbolise Lance's foundation and the Yellow Tour de France leaders jersey.

Read my post properly turbo. I said big scalps that we didn't beat last year. All those teams you mentioned we beat last year so your point is redundant.

And your point regarding Sturt, we've made finals virtually every year since 97, plus a flag in 02 so that would make us far from rubbish for quite a long time now. Keep up mate!

Carlton HAVE improved but as yet that improvement has not translated into victories over the sides that the Blues have had trouble beating over the last, well decade really. But it has resulted in improved percentage.

The Blues haven't gone backwards, it's just that they haven't lived up to the pre-season hype. Earlier this year I stated that I didn't 'get' where the hype was coming from and I tipped Carlton to just miss out on the eight but I'm thinking at this stage that Carlton CAN qualify. If they say they are coming and they make the eight they've lived up to part of the promise of February. Surely the top four was never really on?

The problem may be Fev!
