So now coaches dont put ther best players in the paper..pardon my french but that is f...... bullshit. So why would Payne put his name in there just for fun.

Why would you, so they could cut it out and paste it in their scrap-book. If you want your best players tagged and targetted, yeah, put them in the paper for all to see.

i think its a little early for team of the year..

and i agree with Browny on how people pick the players..

if there was a way to do i think the coaches should put names in from there team that they think have had a consistent year or a stand out year..

if i had to choose from my club i would choose

- payney, player coach maybe
- sibbick, have to be on the wing
-walton, close to the sticks
-groover, down back, great skills and is lightning fast
- solly, back up ruckman, pinch hitter up forward

unlucky to miss out - ryan verbis (r.v), struck down with a knee

think you have to play almost every game, no reports and a team player

Team managers or whoever uses Iscore put the best players in, and i'd be surprised if they are picked by the coaching staff....

Pardon me ;)

i think you may miss be missing out a few unknown. Ian bellman (would almost be leading the best and fairest), Brett Alridge (Dominate on a wing) and Darren Hutimea (Only 3 games but would have top votes almost every game). Also where does haysey, Scotty, Beau and Trav mckee fit in to the whole scheme of things?

You make a good point, I reckon the writer should just pick the best 21 from Brahma Lodge and make that the team of the year

huitema and trav have not played enough games otherwise they would be right up there..

haysey, nath scott, beau and bellman unlucky not to be in my choice, cant have a whole BL team in there..

other players from other clubs that i believe at this stage should be up there would be.. Harvey, Dalby, N mcdonnell, Paul from Heccies, Bryant WC, Boothey, number 12 from WC if he shuts his mouth and plays the game he is good at.. Vessali, a couple from Lockleys but not sure of there names.. Matthews trinity..

any club i have been at..team manager asks the coach who to put in for the paper..coach will then either hide his best, give a buzz to a youngster or if he doesnt really care just put his top 3 in..its not hard..maybe at BL its different because you have a playing coach..dig? :)

many coahes i have known will definitely hide their best..how does anyone get info on players from other clubs?..they look at the best players if they have no other outlets to get info..thats why its done

I've had players in my team that hardly even touch the ball get tagged for the first quarter and a half by naming them in the best players previous weeks, it's pretty funny from the sideline when the other coach is thinking he's got a player flogging one of your playmakers.

I dont get it...

You said that coaches put their best players in, and now your said that they dont to "hide" players?

So lets base the team of the year on the players we read in the paper!!!
