Just the 1 goal for the klompster yesterday NG. Slippery conditions made it tough but the boys worked hard for a narrow win. C Grade comp going to be a real cracker now i think with top 4 teams showing they can be a force with brighton and cove leading the pack.

You are right NG 1 roll is a joke from the klompster and heard he only kicked 1 again on the weekend,he did tell me that the coach has played him at CHF a few times and he even had a run off the halfback flank. Not sure but think hes still leading the goal comp in c grade by about 10?If you want a laugh NG he reckons hes even given a few off this year :o

The Emu`s by around 5 goals today over cove, good standed played by both sides M/V looked abit fitter and with a touch more pace.Didnt see the hole game but 2nd half klompy playing half forward and off the bench, will get into at work as i didnt see him kick any? With strong wins in the last few weeks over brighton and cove it looks like M/V are just starting to hit there straps and are maybe on line for back to back flags, but as we no theres still a long way to go.Any truth in 04 coach going down to watch today?

Yeah I was down there Wattle.I dont know who you are so you should've come up and said hello.Klompy looked ok playing up the field a bit today.Did'nt kick any but did his usual good work bringing others into the game. The Emus play a running style of footy and dont seem to rely on key forwards as they share the load around, but I guarantee come finals Klompy will be the go to man.He never fails to fire in the big games.

Yer he keeps telling me about all his premierships and how well hes played in them   but he must play footy like he works when he show up ready hes great but if he shows up not 100% he doesnt do alot, come finals everyones 100% ready to go.How did you rate the c grade down in the SFL,I only new you where at the game coz klompy told me and then field me in on you and your career, told me you coach him in 04 and you went undefeated what was that like heard he doesnt train much?I told him about ovies in trouble and how they need him back but reckons hes loving life out at M/Vale and is keen to be apart of a very strong c grade unit, maybe you can join him next year he reckons you go ok up forward

Elf, are you suggesting the standard would have been better on a Sunday after a Saturday night of a dozen Woodstocks and some other dubious substances. I'm not sure what your point is ? If a bunch of 30 year old booze hags want to play footy on a Sunday then let them have a kick at the local park. I ask anyone on here who is properly involved at a club what true benefit they get from their C grade at the moment on a Sunday. If a benefit is defined as dragging trainers and other support staff away from family etc. on a Sunday arvo, problems collecting subs, blokes who think they can't get on the park without $50 worth of tape on them etc. etc., then I will concede. However, if your C grade is a chance to keep younger players at the club who aren't regular B graders but still love the club and want to stay put along with some older guys who have something genuine to offer and are good experienced back-up in case of injuries higher up then why not try and programme matches on a Saturday or Friday night so that these guys can feel more a part of the fabric of the club than they currently do, then this is the way to go. Well done to Brighton and Christies for the initiative.

What about the people who have to work saturdays, do we say to them sorry you can't play footy anymore? go and play something else. Its up to each club to make sure all of the players gel together, whether there playing on a saturday or a sunday. Nothing wrong with a family day down at the club watching your kids play in the morning and then watching the c grade in the afternoon.

I understand some of yout points DTH but whats the difference between playing Sunday and friday night for trainers / support staff etc. Also doesnt having the C grade play after the juniors on a sunday incorporate more of a club feel then just a C grade game on a friday night..?

C grade MUST stay on a Sunday arvo, with the likes of Noarlunga looking like they will include a team next year, surely Reynella can get back on board, Porties to sort there stuff out it can get back to a stronger 8-10 team comp. Moving it from a Sunday will be the end of that grade.

Name another Saturday sport including any other footy comp that runs an alternative comp on a Sunday. Why should SFL pander to some of the tattooed toothless meatheads that gave the C grade comp its bad name some years ago. Those days are gone and thats why the so called traditional C grade clubs are not even fielding teams this year. I thought they all had so many Saturday workers that they queue up to play on Sunday. C grade comp for those teams still fielding is a good comp because of the youth in most teams. Most of these lads are busting to get a B grade game and are not playing C grade because its on a Sunday.
