Definitely round grandstand side there were lots of South supporters, old and young, lots with well-worn looking scarves and caps.

I'd guess:
North 3000
Dogs 2700-3000
South 2000
Eagles 1000

And the rest neutrals. The number of Eagles supporters there was pitiful.

But with nothing to cheer about in the first half you would have no way of knowing with most of them whether they were Eagles supporters or neutrals...

South have always got more supporters at Adelaide Oval than they get at Noarlunga Oval, most South supporters don't live at Noarlunga and all the people that I know that live down south don't barrack for South, they actually moved further away from their members base when they went down there.

Look The eagles have 5000 supporters at a maximum.

I don't know the reasons , but maybe merger, Adelaide Crows, always low number of Woodville supporters originally has something to do with it.

So therefore if you look at percentage of supporter base that turn up then I think we do ok

Facts are we don't have a huge supporter base , so don't blame our club for poor attendances.

If you haven't got the supporters then you haven't got the supporters.

For example 20000 Port Suporters , 3500 attend - 17.5%
Eagle Supporters 5000, 1500 attend - 30%

It ain't going to change.

Ain't being negative Dutchy , just stating some facts that we have a low supporter base and i can't see it changing.

Take Uk soccer for example , Wigan Atheletic could be the most successful team for the next 10 years but they would never get the amount of supporters that Man U , Liverpool and Arsenal have. Its all to do with the past success and history.

Shit I'd love it that the SANFL is still this healthy in 20 years time, however unfortunately more and more kids will flock to the AFL over the next 20 years.
