It would be better if they weren't anonymous, if I was in that situation I'd contact all of the coaches and try and get a brief weekly summary off of them.

Totally agree, as very easy to write poorly researched articles or have a snide go and hide behind anonymity. :ymapplause:

When you see the criticism handled out here though, you can understand why they remain anon, particularly if they actually play.
A football writer becomes an easy target for verbal and physical confrontation in a game, I promise you that.

i would certainly believe that DW..but really a writer shouldnt be a player..for the many reasons i wont bore you with

just for example and this was done quick..here are some posters

pulteney : heater31
plympton : jabber
rosewater : pigdog/bulldog_lover
blacks : sprint
wos : dragons/one eyed
elizabeth : dw/duncs? :)
kenilworth : laughing kookaburra/zedman
smithfield : LM
ingle farm : keepitreal
hope valley : valleys07/sdemon

i would think they could all be relied upon for good, accurate information

You are probably right, however, what if there is no else to do it? I'm sure that as the popularity of the budget grows, then perhaps we'll find that more neutral observers will put their hand up to give clubs the coverage they deserve.

Anyway, i'm under the impression that many people know who the writers are anyway.

i must be out of the loop then :(

i repeat..they do a good job and do it for free..but they are not above being critiqued if they make an obvious error..its in the public eye and the information in it needs to be accurate..if you cannot confirm a point or comment..then dont print it

Bulldog Lover know what he's talking bout??
Cmon Z!

Thought this was serious topic for minute!
Good to see them write that Rosewater going the biff etc etc
What a joke that was and if anyone from Blacks had said that i would be surprised.

Not one player from the A grade has been reported or even sent off this year at all
NOT ONCE!
Not bad for a club going the old Biff!!
