Nelson and Chambers to stay with the Blues in 07

Postby Jimmy » Thu Sep 28, 2006 4:43 am

Great news for the club. Hoping Ben Nelson can be moved into the middle where he is most damaging instead of holding down a KP post.

Chambo had a near career best year and clearly sturts best player for the season so glad he has committed to Sturt in 07 :D

Feast and Curto are yet to state their intentions but hope they stay on. I feel confident we can get one more year out of feasty and id be disappointed if curto left.

go you blues!!!!

Can some of the Sturt fans on here give me your impression(s) of where Feast is at these days ... I thought he looked well past it and of little value in the games I saw him this year, but it would be unfair to use 2 or 3 games as a basis, so I would be interested to know what you guys think.

guys that saw him this year said he has a very good year considering he is past his prime...a few schockers but held it together well.

MUCH needed next year...

AH, not a lot of doubt but after a few sr players left, it wouldnt have been a big shock to lose more...lets hope we dont!

Well, no major doubt, but because of our lack of winning in the 06 season with Chambo doing so well it made us worry.

I guess this was just re-assurance. :)

feasty played some awesome games this year. In the absence of any other tall who can take marks in our side at the moment, he was a shining light. True, his ruck work has fallen off (only so many times you can go in with your knees) and he spent less time in ruck that he probably has in is whole career. But his work around the ground, especially up forward, was very strong.

Cheers for that Zippy and Jimmy ... Hope I didn't sound like I was having a shot at the big fella, has been a great servant to your club and is very worthy of admiration, just trying to work out where he's at.

I was impressed with what I saw of DeLuca this year, and I would imagine there's more AFL footy lined up for him in 07, so Feast no doubt would be useful next year.
