Its trouble because the Norwood board have virtually shafted Warky and I'm ropable over this, the only bright part of the NFC over recent years has been Warky but it seems the Friends of Norwood want to make him a scapegoat when its pretty obvious when things turned pear shaped.
Warky is respected as one of, if not the best GM/CEO and marketer of his club and SANFL.
I have a very soft spot for Norwood but with the board doing this I think that soft spot will dry up very quickly.
I hope the SANFL grab Warky, pay him more and put him in a full time marketing role, they're made if they didn't (not as mad as Norwood for shafting him).
Full credit for the way Warky has held his head up high.

Officials at other clubs and a couple a the SANFL can't believe what's happend with this recent announcement and a few others in the past.

Board members have even tried to have discussions with the SANFL and other clubs without Warky's knowledge.
Luckily the officials that Im aware of have told them to stick it and handle things in the correct manner.

Norwood were in the poo before this and their downward plunge will be accelerated now. This could well be the nail in the coffin but serves some of the members rights for a few people they elected on the promise of a bit of hoo hah a few years ago.

The sad part about it is he's miles in front of some CEOs/GMs and I hope people understand the role fully before commenting.
Great job over the years Warky, you can hold your head up high unlike some of the arse clowns that backstabbed you.

Ironic that the first whiff of this members got was in the paper, Warky was the only bloke in the club in the past who took time out to communicate with the supporters, a few obviously didn't like members being kept in touch.

Good title dingalinga, very apt, spot on.

Warky is a legend, met him a few times, try converting me to a Norwod supporter, didn't work  but he was a credit to the NFC.

Judging by some of the comments on the redleg forum, it is not a universally popular decision.

I am a long way away from the action but it has always appeared to me that David Wark is one of the few blokes in SANFL footy circles that has his sh!t together.

It seems that we can officially hand over the title of worst performing board in the SANFL......

The last 12 months has seen a quantum leap forward in our boards performance......
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Agreed fully.
Ive always got along well with Stazza but the place is a bloody shambles.
It was going to be difficult before but I think its nigh on impossible for the NFC to climb out of their hole now.
I certainly wont be as sympathetic as I originally would have been now.

I was almost hoping someone didn't bring up this topic as I know I'd let rip with a bit of the inside info I have and was trying not to, I've purposely steered clear of putting my opinion on the Norwood forum, christ, if some of the Norwood fans knew what I knew they'd blow up the board tomorrow.
I might already be in the shit for some things I've let slip on here.

In some ways its sad that two traditional powers of the SANFL, on the face of it, appear that they will be struggling big time next year. Not that Sturt appear to have a poorly functioning board but they have coin problems.

Norwood though could be heading for the sort of era we had from 2000-2005 as disunity and disfunctional boards are a cancer that unquestionably affects performance. it seems that the next ew months could be make or break for Norwood.

You never notice good boards, however bad boards stand out like dogs preverbials.....

Not that i think the worst is going to happen but a period in the wilderness beckons if they are not carefull.

I would suggest non-Norwood supporters on this forum get down off their high horses and let Norwood get on with THEIR business.

Are you aware of how much money is being lost every week by the NFC? Are you aware of how dire the situation is?

I think as an admirer of Warky and the NFC in the past and a huge fan of the SANFL I have every right to comment especially when I feel someone has been wronged IMHO. I was at the Norwood B&F last year, I created the Norwood fans forum, Ive had several dealings with Warky and occasionally other parts of Norwood.
Why should I not be allowed to put forward my opinion?
I would suggest that you get down of your high horse and allow people to comment on something they care about and know something about also and I would suggest you and other Norwood supporters did something before their club falls down a hole if it hasn't already, they're way to passive for my liking which is why things haven't been happening at a great rate of knots in recent years and why the board is not held accountable.

Mr Adelaide Hawk, perhaps you should get involved instead of just telling others they shouldn't if you're such a big Norwood fan?

Sorry for showing some concern for a club i repsect, go re-read my post I was actually showing some concern because you are showing some of the administrative signs that precipitated our demise in the mid 90s.

If that is your attitide I hope you and your club get everything that is coming your way.......

Prehaps Glenelg can appoint him as GM. :)
So was it a case of a couple weeks before the board having complete faith in him and stand by him 110%.

Wedgie and others, particularly Wedgie, I appreciate your "concern" for our club, I appreciate your work on our wonderful Redlegs forum, but rest assured a lot more Norwood supporters know whats happening and there are "moves" to change things.

We are not all "ignorant" and as it is OUR club do not believe we bury our head in the sand!
You have some dealings yes, some inside info yes but really as non Norwood people dont have the passion or the anger to know whats going on at the Parade.

Dont do a "KG" and say "if you knew what I knew" and then say nothing!

External appearances can be deceiving, And dont assume that I'm hanging shit on David Wark because I'm not.

Maybe if any of you attended an aftermatch presentation and spoke to members there you could make an informed statement.
Having said that everyone is entitled to their opinion and there's nearly always a little bit of truth in any rumour.

On a final and personal note, Having missed 7 matches in the last 31 seasons and same for after match pressies, let me tell you I will not let the, no MY, club go down without a fight, even if people get their feelings hurt or noses put out of joint along the way!
STAY TUNED!!!!!

For the benefit of any Norwood fans reading this thread the statement above is wrong.

While I could obviously never know as much about the Redlegs as Wedgie I do know that our board are working as hard as ever towards a stable financial future. Stay tuned.

For the benefit of any people that can read its not hard to work out the difference between an opinion and a statement when the words "I think" are used.
FFS, I wonder about you at times mate.

I don't think anyone called Norwood supporters "ignorant" Fester, so Im not sure what you're on about.

And as for doing a KG I gave an example of how the board have undermined Warky in the past not to mention the "leak" one board member did in giving the news to the media. Absolutely disgusting in my book especially with the service and integrity Warky's giving the NFC.

I hope things go well for Norwood, but having the only shining light at Norwood with the only bit of nouse around the place getting shafted I wont hold my breath.

Good luck Norwood and lets hope Warky gets a job where he has the backing of a board or company without the backstabbing he's had to put up with in recent years, he deserves it. The fact that Warky hasn't "leaked" something to the media and remained confidential is a credit to himself and an example some of his board members should take note of when it comes to running a club in a professional manner. Things could be worse though, Topsy could have succeeded in his bid for a spot on a board last year! Christ that would have been a disaster when he can't even summarise a simple post correctly.

Supporters of the 3rd most successful SANFL club are
entitled to talk about the 2nd most successful SANFL club.

Maybe the resurrection of the 3rd most successfull club could
be the blueprint to follow.
