Must have changed a bit since I played there. Remember Echunga and Maccy not being too flash either. You could lose a footy in the mud on those grounds :(

Callington wanted to play in the RMFL this year, but that league didn't approve due to them being non competitive, not having a netball club and also the fact that the River Murray League had already gotten rid of a similarly beleaguered club, Redlegs, and they wouldn't have wanted a repeat of that scenario.

hopefully not! that sounds like alot of driving. although i do believe swan reach/blanchtown were looking at coming in the same year kangarilla did. TV should go up to centrals for he good of themselves and the league or they might end up in the same situation as meadows.

ashby situation is interesting though.... is the gums culture changing for the worse?

Mid Murray comp is going to be interesting next year. With Ramco now in Riverland Independents, Morgan-Cadell near folding and whispers of Robertstown joining the APFL, it does leave Sedan/Cambrai and Blanchetown/Swan Reach homeless. Cambrai were merged with Mt.Torrens years ago and does have a history with the HFL, but not sure if the HFL would take them back.

BSR would be a huge drive for the Southern teams - could we see a resurgence of the old Hills Northern league or "Torrens Valley league" - maybe Kersbrook, Gum, TV, Sedan-Cambrai, Houghton (or were you just sh!t-stirring Cougar?), Loby, BSR?

I think Robertstown would be keen to be part of any move with the hills, if the details can be sorted. Going to the APFL would cost them a heap. Sedan/Cambrai play at Cambrai which isn't all that far, and BSR would be able to programme games at their ovals dependant on who they are playing. One positive for the Hills boys is that it doesn't rain all that often in these areas so no running around in the cold and wet when you play these teams. As far as Robby goes, most teams would only have to go there once a year, and would only have to travel 3 times a year to play these teams. The MMFL clubs would be making a bigger sacrifice travelling every 2nd week, although they have been used to travelling anyway.

Have any of these teams put their application in to join the league??? I thought this had to be done already???
Finals time is only around the corner, how are teams looking with injuries??
Round 15 will be interesting one: (will show how some teams sit for the finals):
Kersbrook Vs Echunga - Echunga still with several players out i would say Kersbrook with an easy 8 goal win.
Gumeracha Vs Kangy - This could decide who gets 5th spot. I say Kangy by 5.
Maccy Vs Meadows - I would say Meadows are due for one.
T.V. Vs Callington - another 60 goal + win. will they rest players? They are gathering form coming up the the right time of year. Do they have anyone out?

I thought Kersbrook to Kangarilla was a hike, but Robertstown to Kangarilla

Did hear it from two different people FH, but both NOT associated with Houghton. They do have a history with the HFL, but I like others would be very surprised if were to leave the SAAFL. I still don't think the HFL would take these clubs in anyway, as they'd all cop floggings (a la Callington) if they were to join Hills Country.

I believe all three have the capacity to step up. My belief is the clubs aren't applying separately but looking at doing something at a league level, maybe a new division.

My how the mighty have fallen...Gums top of the world to now looking like missing out on the finals...must be that thing called Karma.
Maybe the club will have a real close look at their culture and decide if this is the path they want to follow.
Kangys will run them off their feet Sat and that will close the chapter on their final hopes.

Cougar, did you know about this?
Is Brett a chance to get the Norwood job?
Without these two (possibly Paul to BD as well) how will Kersbrook go in 2010?
