Having met Wedgie at the Bloods Bonanza I found him to be a very friendly bloke who is very passionate about his club. Good on him!
He stood up with us Bloods supporters and copped a bit of shit, all in good humour of course, and gave a bit back which is good too.
Sure what Wedgie wrote may have offended some but at least he was MAN enough to look back and admit he was wrong and apologise unlike Eagleye who hasn't said a thing since. SOFT! As someone else has posted, Wedgie is well known to most and is very aproachable.

Am going to the GF this week, going to the Presidents luncheon so will wave to the poor people while sipping on my chardonay   YUK! I'm sure the beers will be nice and cold.
Go you Eagles!
Wolf Pack. OOOOOOOWWWWWW.

The big loser is the SANFL - another non event GF!!
There will be more atmosphere for the Ressies GF, as Norwood and the Cocks will have more supporters than the Hybrid bitches! Was wanting North to win but with a shitload of injuries to ruin their ressies!!

As we ALL know Wedgie, footy is an emotional part of many people's lifes and dont lose your passion, just do what I do - Tell yourself that other teams supporters are jealous dickheads cos their not up to a level that lets them support your club.

That goes for you to, stupid cock!

Its all mental for the Eagles this year. The result definately isnt a foregone conclusion, but its all dependant on whether the Eagles can mentally not crumble on the day like they did in the 2nd Semi. In my opinion they have a better team than Centrals on paper (though as I said last week I think Centrals have been drastically under estimated this year).

If the Eagles come out switched on then they will win.

Wedgie in fairness to what you are going on about, the gf next week will be one sided on the scoreboard and crowd support. If north were playing, it would have been alot more even on both counts.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Having not met you wedgie I couldn't say what your like in person but I know in the past here on safooty we've had our share of debates. Personally I only took offence to the line referring to the Eagles having no heart. Bad luck for Sunday unfortunatley there has to be a loser and on this occasion it was your Roosters, I'm sure you'll be celebrating long and hard in years to come. As an Eagles fan myself I cannot condone the comments by eagleye. I would love to catch up with you one day and have a beer and a chat it would be good. PS go the mighty Eagles!!! 8)

PM me your phone number and I'll offer you sympathies and a mothball supplier that we recommend.

I had planned to avoid a GF result and watch it on ABC2. Now that it's the Eaglesv Cennals again, there really is no point. Another to the Dogs FFS.

Well seeing as Eagleye hasn't responded, I think that pretty much sums it up.

I took the "no heart" part to be the arrogance of some of the Centrals supports and the lack of respect they have for us, and we should use it as a motivation , and with the other teams supporters jumping on board, suddenly its "us against them". So we'll show 'em!!

I think there are some supporters out there who are/were Eagles who aren't there anymore and have "not heart" and no-one's angrier or more disappointed about that than us loyal Eagles. Mind you, how many Bays supporters that left at half-time of the '92 GF have been back to the Bay? (And I'm usually a bit of a Bays apologist).

Flying High - I hink you've misread the situation fella.
No Centrals supporters in their right mind can afford to be arrogant and show a lack of respect, YOU can still beat us.
Looking through these threads and conceivably the large proportion of the posters giving you guys stick are from other clubs.
And, I don't think as many are banding against Centrals either. Judging by the posts in the past couple of days, Skipworth's effort and the Eagles previous GFs have assured that many will be waiting for you to fall over yet again. For them it's great to keep a joke running.
For us, it's now a matter of pride to keep our run against you guys going. It's like the Ashes last year - you'd hate to be in the side that ends the streak.

Is there a limit as to how many drucken outbursts one person can have on this site?

The first comment by Wedgie should be put up as a sticky at the top of the page, it would make everyone think twice before they post when their team has lost. Its an emotionial game, thats why we love it.

Fair enough Dogwatcher, I just find it disappointing of the general attitude out there about the GF, both from the media and the neutral supporters on this site.

Sure, the Eagles have plenty to prove, but the fact that these two teams are back up there again after ordinary starts to the year is a credit to both, and surely why this is a great comp, because unlike the AFL rotational-premiership you can keep coming back if you're good enough.

Yes, there have been some ordinary posts regarding the Skipworth incident, by both for and against him. Like I said on the footysa game thread - there's obviously some history between these two, and while it was an ordinary thing to do, I think it has been blown out of proportion.

I hate Peckers!!! Make dog's meat out of them. I just remembered the game at Thebby against Eagles and the d##khead Pecker supporters so I will be cheering on the Doggies come Sunday.

But you have to be in it to win it. Can't get a flag if you don't make the Grand Final.

As a Geelong fan I can emphasise entirely. Put it this way Diss, had the Eagles lost the 93 Grand Final to Norwood..that is what it is like for Cats fans. I even remember an article saying 'Cats should stay out of Grand Finals' after we lost the 1997 preseason grand final to Carlton. It think it was by Mike Sheahan..makes it pretty hard to win a premiership Mike you goose!!

Good luck on the weekend.
