Hey LM, nice effort to keep the shoulders intact saturday but do the finger instead!

Yeah, it looked a little weird seeing my ring finger shorter than the pinkie, took a bit to get back into line aswell.

I thought the SHOC's situation was that the first week they did not want the home final so the league played the neutral final at Kenilworth because it had the best surface and facilities to accomidate a bigger crowd. The other reason was the whole PHOS Camden and CUB debate that went to the messenger newspaper and ended up apologising to Kenilworth after comments made in the peper. Then PHOS recommended their C grade GF be played at Kenilworth as a form of apology for what was said in the paper. (Forgive me if I am wrong that is just the understanding i got.). So I beleive they were all neutral games that the SAAFL appointed.

please dont remind us of our 2 prelim finals losses. First was against fitzroy in 2007, then greenacres the following year. Think we will sort things out before then. as im not there i cant comment on injurys etc as i dont know but plympton have always found depth in the club and im sure players in the lower grades will fill the spots with pride.
Not sure on the 'smaller grounds ' hurting us as our home ground is not that big.

He's spot on, and i've always said it, Plympton play Plympton Oval woefully!!! and always has!

I've been telling our footy director for the past 3 years to do a deal with Kenilworth to use thier oval for home finals, always falls on deaf ears...

jabber jabber yabber yabber, have heard & listened that the footy director tried to get Kenilworth oval in 2007 elim final V Central U & again last year Prelim V Greenacres but apparently the SAAFL had the final say even after long emails & telephone calls. I do believe he is to get in touch again to see if the club can use it this year he will try his best even when people dont listen to the replies.maybe you know of a better way ?

I never implied who's deaf ears they fell on... may have been the leagues!!!

Been in a couple of B grade sides that have belted the doggies, however the A's a completely different story. ;)

Really, coz i dont see Plympton v Kenilworth as much of a rivalry at all, don't know whether thats a good, bad or indifferent thing, and its just my personal opinion. When i played against them i never felt any real need to beat them moreso than any other side...

where would you host sprint if you got one?

are you saying that SHOC had their home final allocated by request to st mary's?
our understanding has been that you host at your own ground or take pot luck with being allocated a neutral ground.
we lost the elimination at smithfield by 1 pt in extra time last year, so we wouldn't choose there :(
Div 4-7 GFs are allocated based on the location of the clubs in the As and the Bs. If the game is between two of Pulteney, Plympton or WOS, you'd think the GF would be at St Marys anyway, with Kilburn, Salisbury and Campbelltown the other grounds that usually have them a long way away.

Every club that is in finals contention gets the chance to 'nominate' thier ground for finals, then the SAAFL goes through certain criteria and work out whether they tick all the boxes, then if you play well enough to be rewarded with a home final you get one, if you don't tick all the boxes you get duck shoved wherever.

What i wanted to do was instead of nominating our ground, because we don't tick the west end box, instead we nominate panther park as our surrogate home ground. Unsure whether it can work that way, but as long as criteria is met and boxes are ticked, then surely it doesnt matter which oval you nominate, as long as it is suitable.

adding to that of course you need to make sure that the oval you nominate is not being used for finals by the actual club that uses the oval, which kenilworth would not be doing this year.

Plymptno doesn't thats why we can't host finals, or one of the reasons, they never get past that tick box!

Well I think that is the MAIN box that requires ticking for Plymptno to get a home final.
