Plymptno doesn't thats why we can't host finals, or one of the reasons, they never get past that tick box!

Well I think that is the MAIN box that requires ticking for Plymptno to get a home final.

Yes, thats why we should look at panther park.

The club gets a far better deal with CUB.

my personal view is that having to fork out $1,000 is a crock. if you don't have a bar, and yes like it or not there are some clubs who don't have one or aren't able to have one, you can't possibly guarantee covering your $1,000 outlay. have to weigh up the advantage gained playing at home versus the financial impact on the club.

It's a pretty easy $10K to $15K for the SAAFL per week. We charged $5 per car last year to try and recoup some of the costs, it was quite funny seeing one teams support staff lugging all of their ice bags, medical supplies and other requirements across Andersons Walk from the pub car park to save what would've ended up being $1 each.

We dont have sufficient parking to be able to do that but we do have a bar. I can guarantee its worth every penny in that case. You get the cash back in spades with the increased amount of supporters at finals games.

Not having a dig by any means sprint, but is the club on the lookout for a new oval complete with possibilities to develop clubrooms or already with clubrooms, or are you guys happy with st doms? I know this issue was brought up last year, just wondering if there has been any progress made or has it just fallen away?

It helps your cause because of where your bar is located, our one is too far away from the oval, I envy clubs that can watch the game from the bar, money for jam, especially on a wet day.

Just on that sprinter, have you guys applied for a part time liqour licence, I'm pretty sure it's only around $30 per day that you use it.

we've done a bit of investigation over the last 12 months. enquired about mawson lakes oval mid 2007 but did not hear back from registration of interest. st pauls are there now. matheson reserve findon was a slight possibility. being used for soccer during the winter. no footy infrastrucutre there. enquiry about another where western warriors used to play on west tce, didn't go anywhere at that stage. i believe soccer is there also.
80% of our players are old scholars and grew up playing footy at st doms so i guess its a bit like moving a suburban club.
the surface is improved this year with some work planned for end of this season. new lights were put in this year so training conditions have improved vastly and the rooms/canteen service us well enough.
realistaically, being a club only in its 4th year we need a few more years to stabalise, get more people involved off the field and then take it from there. i would expect that we will be based at st doms for a number of years, but if an option came up we'd at least look at it.

Also on the topic of finals, if you werent in a position to host a final, and couldnt hold it at home (ala plympton, blacks) seeing as the saafl holds the licence to thebby, what about hosting there? anyone know if its possible?

We were denied home finals last year because we refused to put the West End logo on the guernsey. It had nothing to do with sponsorship from Coopers as some have said - PAOC has never allowed a sponsors logo on the guernsey because its the school guernsey. It finally took the threat from Shadiac of a fine per guersey per Saturday that would have gone into the thousands before we agreed, although there were some, including me, who recommended legal action against the league
