Well thanks for stating the obvious that it was high. I still want to know how someone 'accidentally' elbows someone in the face with enough impact to do that kind of damage. I dont know any players that lead with their elbows. Just because nothing else is being made of it (like alot of things in div 7 which is understandable given the level of umpiring etc this low down) does not mean it wasn't a cheap shot. Would love to see what you blokes would be saying had it been you or any of your team mates on the recieving end.

So i take it you're #43? I must say you killed Saint Pauls on Saturday but mate thats just not footy. A clumsy 'shove'? Haha you're kidding yourself aren't ya? Way off the ball, Chris completely unaware and head high? Im not saying you struck him anywhere near hard enough to hurt him or anything but its just a cheap shot off the ball no matter how you look at it. Poor form mate

To put it all into context for you, I was concussed in the last quarter by my own teammate's elbow, I doubt he would have deliberately elbowed me, that's footy and contact happens.

And my clash with Chris was in play. Kennett had just broken a tackle just inside the forward fifty and was running into goal for a shot. I ran toward him and Chris got between us for a shepherd, I stuck my arms out and shoved him forward. Clumsy and a free kick (if Kennett had missed), but hardly a dog act. I apologised because it was unneccessary and he is a good bloke.

We could go back and forth like we did after Round 8, but it's not going to achieve anything, I'm bowing out of this subject for now.

"Frollickly challenged"? I take offence to that accusation, I frolic frequently and am damn good at it, I just prefer not to do it on the footy field.

:) Yes, a lot of complaints last time from the Houghton boys about dirty plays from St Pauls when they lost.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Actually, both parties have short memories. With roles reversed we are acting out our past criticisms to the letter.

I dont remember any Houghton boys having a fractured eye socket after recieving a dirty elbow to the face. But keep defending it mate, elbowing people head on like that is obviously part of footy at Houghton

Ok, sounded like a pretty high pressure game on Saturday but playing the "he said, she said" game isn't going to get us anywhere and is frankly quite boring....

Can we leave it alone please and talk about the positives perhaps?

Thanks kids :D

Disapointing Game on Saturday for the Crab lads, Henley were just to strong for us all over the ground and will be very hard to beat for anyone come finals, looking forward to this week against the owls to do all we can to get into the finals, will be good to hopefully welcome some players back from injury before finals also, with probabley 5 guys back into the team this week. Just hope henley play as well against shocs as they did against us.

On a side note i don't know anything about the raiders V saints game, but i would hope that houghton Vs Saints doesn't happen in finals cause i don't think the tooing and throwing on this forum would stop until the sides met again next year.

and it had nothing to do with the feed either!!! haha!

granted he can play but the obviously had it planned to get it to him all day... i think our boys put on a good fight in the magoos considering we haven't had a side for a few weeks.

in the A's match it was a fairly good contest. Uni started quickly with the first three in 8-10 minutes then we woke up and closed it down a bit. the second quarter was tight again, we kicked two back and looked like we'd go into half time almost even however two late umpiring decisions (they were good all day, 1R umps i reckon) cost us two late goals and we went in a couple down. the third quarter saw Uni peppering the goals and they kicked something like 8 or 9 points but still a 4-5 goals lead heading into the last. they changed their rucks at the start of the last and Benny Fuller won every tap but the ball would bounce straight into the hands of a Uni player and they kicked 4 goals in about 3 minutes to sew it up. was a good clean game of footy and credit to the boys for comin in and havin a drink and buying some raffle tickets, it was much appreciated.

very glad Ivan kicked 5 on the weekend so he doesn't get his ton against us. we're hoping we get the same kind of numbers out next week so we can have the two sides again and finish the season on a high. the big goal is to now build on the work we have done in the last 4 weeks or so and try to maintain the two sides and build on the off field structure.

Why did he do that? Was it due to any Houghten players?

It was one of the funnier things I've seen happen during footy. The goal umpire was just a kid and he called a Saint's goal touched, when it probably was just over the line, and one of their player's vented his frustration at him, as you do sometimes in those situations.

Ok lads, it's basically finals time, let's look at how it will all pan out...
the 5 after this week should be;

Henley
Athelstone
Houghton
St Pauls
Flinders

Athelstone out in straight sets

Houghton v St Pauls Prelim - will be very VERY heated, will definatley try to get out to see that one!!!

my tip at this point is Henley v Houghton GF
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

Wouldn't write off Athelstone just yet. Their Div 2 sides probably won't make finals (need a bit of luck to go their way), so they'll have most of their players who have played C Grade this year available.

Honestly, I couldn't split the top four with a bee's dick, they could all beat each other on any given day.
