Does anyone know what is happening to Callington next year? Will Echunga be their last senior game for a long time? Wouldn't mind a day out watching my old club if so. Any leads?

Owen & the board are going out to watch. Unfortunately they'll be taking some nails and a hammer to finally close the coffin down firmly for the last time.
Nah I'm joking really. You won't see anyone from the board out there, they might leave themselves open for some "well earned" criticism, so I reckon they'll give the place a real wide berth.

Yep, that's a pretty standard result coming from the kangaroo court the HFL try and call a "tribunal". It's a bloody disgrace how they can be in charge of something so important.

Heard on SAFM this morning that they will be out supporting Cally this Sat against Echunga in the hope that they can score a goal. Apparently they have arranged the Crows cheersquad to make a banner for the Cally boys to run through and the Menz Chocolates mascot will be acting as a team mascot for the day.......

What are everyones thoughts Cally's media circus?

Anything to do with Amber Petty doesnt have anything good about it IMO. If they can get a few extra people there its all well and good but it wont help them at all. Most outsiders or people who havent heard of Callys predicament until now will go up there for a laugh on Saturday and then quickly forget about them. If we could get some SERIOUS people helping them out that would be great, but not these 3 clowns.

Having seen first hand the effects of Today Tonight coming out to Milang when I was there, and seeing that a) it didn't bring any players out of the woodwork and b) resulted in more hassles than positivity, then I am amazed Callington have gone down this path. Hope it works but....

Stay tune folks....T/V may not get their wish to enter Div Central....nothing to do with the Hills Board but alot of clubs are annoyed about having a 11 team comp meaning a bye. I guess they would be happy to have them if someone goes down but that won't happen so.....this will put the cat among the pigeons.

Constitution states that the Central Division has to be a 10 team competition. The bye would be a factor, but also with an 11 team comp a sides draw could affect their ladder position at the end of the year. You would be a bit peeved if you had to play Uraidla twice and only got to play Lobethal once the way it stands this year, and finished 6th on percentage to someone who played Lobethal twice and Uraidla once.

Yeah, I agree. It's not so much having the bye, but the stuff up it makes of the draw. If TV are to go up to div 1 then I believe a team has to come down to keep it at 10 teams.

I also think TV should have to go through the same process as any other club that wants to go up by nominating by the 1st jan in the year before going up. The process has always been there, why should it have to be changed for a club that isn't intelligent enough to plan for it earlier than the end of the year???

If TV want to go up to div 1, put your nomination in before Jan and then plan to go up in 2011 - that then gives time for the lower clubs in div 1 to get their shit together or prepare to go back to div 2.

Everyone knows what I think about that, for what it's worth. Callington don't need money, banners, mascots or chocolates. They need good players and the more this circus continues, the less likely it is that this will EVER happen. Why on earth would any class acts want to go there now?

Furthermore, they won't get any of the gate, canteen or bar for the circus this week either.

Where is Owen and his Board for goodness sakes, and why is this being allowed to happen?

I'm coming over from Perth to see the Blues play Port Adelaide on the weekend and I have let the club know if they want me to pull on the boots for them once again this season, then I am more than happy to do so.

I had fun playing for them earlier in the season against Moneybags Valley and I have the chance to do so again so why not put my hand up to help out once again!

They may well have gone into hiding because they just don't have the answers nor the intelligence to find one.
Should have seen this coming years ago but alas, No, not the men of the HFL! More's the pity I say!

why wasnt the whole SAFM Callington thing organised for last week when they were playing at home? Echunga must be stoked with all this publicity. Be intesresting to see what sort of atmosphere there will be on Saturday. Echunga have nothing to gain or lose so will they relax a bit and have a bit of fun?
