ohhhhh dont ge me started!!!!!!
load of rubbish to want to pass 4 interchange players....thats 16 different combination of events per team per game. surely the exec is kidding?????

given the problems from last year, the exec need to consolidate on current management regimes and spend some time, over the next few years, to tighten up the rules.

infact i will go one step further and say that churches/paradistrict/suburban need to have one set of rules. this is especially important for churches as we are the weakest of the three, and if we are going to play aginst our peers, it should be on the same level. this will be good for cusa cup, and good for carnivals.

oh...and having a one dayer at 35 overs is crap. if this goes through....oh boy. we may as well do 20/20 and be done with it.

 I agree mate. 35 overs is a joke I reckon. Simple solution is to start earlier, but I don't play anymore, so the decisions need to be made by the current players.

The issue of interchangeable players is an interesting debate. IMO, 3 is plenty. The interchange rule is imperative for competitions to continue to exist in their fullest capacity, with the work/life balance these days tilted towards the less enjoyable of the 2. Alternatives are more one-dayers. The reasoning is CUSA is 40 overs stuff, Carnivals are 50 overs, why not play all one-dayers? IMO, this would be just as bad, if not worse, than not having interchangeable players, for the future of any of the social cricket comps, because the same players would be batting each week, and the same for the bowling. Anyone not doing either would soon get jacked off and quit. I know I would if it were me.

I’m also a bit of a traditionalist and there’s enough hard-wicket cowboys playing 20/20 shots in 65 over matches as it is, not to mention you’d hate for the Grand Final to be decided by a slog-fest. It’s just not cricket, even though having a one-day GF would allow for easier programming in the event of the heat rule cancelling all play… ;)

No coin at gepps, from what i've heard these blokes will be playing c grade...

In other news if my rumor mail is anywhere near accurate, Enfield will have a very strong side this season and also another side in the comp looks a chance to pick up a VERY VERY quick bowler..

Hey Carey, remember i said you would be getting a B grader from Fitzroy.....things have changed and chance are he will stay now. I know that wont effect you guys much but it will be a boost to our clubs efforts to have 3 strong sides. And being a Port supporter i couldnt agree with Playon more.....F*CK OFF football season.
