Our gameplan is more centred around getting the hard ball rather then only run and carry.
Guess you've been corrected whufc.
no worries then, i can see this topic being one that gets bumped the minute after the final siren if we happen to meet each other in the finals.
Enjoy doing that if you get the chance and I'll be the first to admit it if it looks anything like the previous 2 years finals.
I'll quite happily bump it if the reverse happens too. You man enough to admit it if you're wrong. Doubt it

After doing a little research there seems to be a common statistic in Sturts losses. Out of the five games Sturt have lost this season Chambers has only managed 7 goals and 4 of them came against North in the one game.
Most people wouldn't be surprised by that but what did surprise me is this- in all 5 losses no other Sturt player but Chambers has kicked more than 2 goals in a losing game. In 3 of those losses no other sturt player has kicked more than 1 goal, and on one occasion Chambers was the teams only goalscorer.
What i think the statistics tend to show is that when Sturt are under the pump or losing they don't have any other goalscorers who can step up and kick a winning score, if Chambers isn't firing.
Is this a case of Sturt become to focused on getting the ball to Chambers that even when his having a bad day they continue to kick to him and miss other spot ups, or is it a case of Sturt lack goalkicking depth and have a lot of workmanlike forwards but not genuine goalscorers.
Like i said this isn't a sledge or a cheap shot or anything of the kind. It was just some interesting stats when going through Sturts losses this season.

It's a good point, but I think you need to look at all the stats, like inside 50's, contested ball etc, etc. I don't think Sturt were Chambers focused today

MST wrote:A valid question whufc (what was Carlton Cole thinking by the way?). I think you will find the recurring pattern in our five losses for the year is a non existent midfield. Chambers kicking low scores, particularly against Glenelg, has very little to do with who plays on him and a lot to do with the ball not getting down to him nearly enough and on the occasions it does, not coming in with any quality.
I highlighted on the game review thread that we had a measly 21 forward 50 entries yesterday, some 40 less than the opposition. You can make your own mind up based on that stat.

Don't disagree with that statement about a few Bays supporters MST, but likewise there are a few in Double Blue that need to reflect in the mirror too.
IMO opinion their pre-occupation with the Bays is baffling as there is a better team out there than us.
