Right you are checky. It seems Nuri are Freeling's bogey side. In fact I believe they knocked them off in the elimination final last year.

yes yes they did, in fact i believe they went on to win the grand final too last year, quality side they were and still are

Willaston need to atleast win by 80 points to score and extra 6%, can't see Willaston beating Barossa by that much.
Though I belive Willaston had 3 17's playing A's, that weren't named in the barracker for 17's.

Did have Jarrod Schiller, who is now captain of CDFC U18's, come back for the finals.
And did get best on ground in the grand final.

You're obviously a Nuri man Football, how do you rate your side's chances against South Gawler this week?

It was a great round this week. I was at the Willaston V Ango game and the boys put on a great show. Ango played a great game but they show what will happen when you don't play 4 quarters of footy. Willaston will have to have a very big game when they play Barossa next week. All teams what to go out on a win so this will be a big game this week.

GC did what we all thought they were going to do.

South also play a good one showing what they are made of.

Nuri knew it was crunch time and played better footy after half time. Well done to the Rovers and good luck.
If I see it I say it.

i went to kapunda to watch the a's to see if GC have the yips at the moment and i went a little early to watch the 17's... i was standing talking to a few people i knew near the umpires rooms and was disgusted when i heard one of the umps say to one of his mates "well three GC boys wont be getting any free kicks from me today"...

BLG Ump just wondering what you can say on this matter... thought umpires were supposed to make the game as fair as possible and call it as it is played... sure every ump misses a few calls and makes a wrong decision but to say something like that before the game has even started is surely not on...

im unsure on who the three lads were and looking at the score i don't think it really matters in the end but still surely thats not on...

80pts isnt worth 6% freeling won by 180pts in the 2 weeks before and only went up around 4-5%

did the math and if willston win 150pts to 20pts they still fall 1.74% short of freeling.

Nuri were very lucky to beat Freeling. Nuri played dumb football and only got through on the back of a couple of quality individual efforts. Will need to improve out of sight to do anything in the finals.... Thats from a Nuri supporters perspective too.

Freeling, despite killing the game as a spectacle by playing a loose man in defence, look like they have the number of quality juniors coming through that the club has been crying out for for years. They must be looked after and fast tracked into the senior side to help Freeling compete with the rest of the comp in terms of on field-local player contribution.

do you think in finals that freeling could knock nuri off? mind you nuri have beaten them both times they have played.

I definitely think Freeling can beat Nuri. Freeling had a number of players playing who had been on a ski trip for the entire week who had only arrived back in SA early Saturday morning. Ruckman Richard Hayman apparently only played half a game due to school footy and Tyson Thomas apparently tore up Freeling. If they can pull it together they should be able to grab a win!

Mills, Doherty, Molyneux on the ball I would think. Who are people tipping for the ruck spot?
Tyson Thomas would be my pick.

leighton schuster has made his mark in the ruck this year and has featured in the bests a fair bit latly. not best in the comp but around the mark.

Who do you guys think should umpire the U17 Finals... A Graders or regular U17 guys...?

A Grade umpires should umpire all grades during finals. Better quality officiating and far less chance of an umpire umpiring his school mates.
