Apparently the Brooker was only performing the Heinlich manoeuvre as he thought the Gum player was choking.

  Hmmm, so every HFL Country Div club that has played Gumeracha this year has antagonised them to the point that most of them get sent off?? Any truth that the Gums Coach is banned from coaching in Amateur League? I wonder what for

These players would certainly interest Mitchell Park by the sound of it, they love behind the play action.

Let them go to central div, it would be interesting to see how they go, if the HFL want central div to be at its strongest they would allow TV to go up

Must be a pity for the die hard Gummers.
At least 3 of the B-Graders might get to play another week though!

c,mon BS what the hell has Eastern Park got to do with this?

Sorry NSP, my ears must be playing up again. But I'm sure I haven't heard any statements like this 'Yeah those new Gumeracha blokes are pleasant bunch. Play hard but play the ball. Never abuse umpires or supporters and are probably the cleanest bunch of footballers we've ever played against. We are really looking forward to playing those guys again'.

Is this going to be voted on by the clubs or the board? Will it be required to be unanimous?

I thought he was now registered at Bridgewater? No club is moving forward with that hopeless hack in their side.

Sounds quite typical to me. The board may well be silly enough to go along with the idea too!

Burglar, your on the money mate, some "wallies" just never give up, do they. No doubt stuck for something constructive to say so we'll go back and bring out the old chestnut.

Thanks for the kind words Kickittome, and it was good to meet one or two forumites who noticed that I was the only one wearing runners out there ... but in the number 8 instead!

I am still ruing that shot on goal in the second term which made a bee-line for the goalpost and made such a sickening thud *head still looking at the ground thinking of that kick* but it was good to have the run around again.

I was a bit peeved that I was dragged in the last quarter ... to do an interview for Today Tonight after someone alerted them to the fact that a not-so-slim West Aussie was running around the ground. It took 3 minutes out of my game and I thought I was going back to the days of being a true benchwarmer again for a moment LOL!

Seriously, I have enjoyed both games that I played and to help out a club that is short of a couple of players leaves me with a satisfied feeling. I feel that to help out a club by playing when I can when I am over from WA is a good deed because as we know nowadays when most clubs merge or go into recess, 95% of the time they remain a memory (Peter Lines' book has at least a hundred plus examples).

A few months or a year or two of pain for a long-term gain is worthwhile as when the footy club goes, the pub sells less grog, the shops sell less food and there are less dollars floating around the community because people from neighbouring towns aren't coming in nine times a year injecting money into the town.

I'm too old to run around every week here in Perth so goal umpiring in the Amateurs suits me fine but a game here and there for Cally gave me the chance to get the taste and have some fun. The guys deserve the chance to see it through these times and onwards up the ladder, just like most other clubs have had the chance to before.

Guys, keep fighting the good fight and I'll be back for a game or two next year!

With all due respect to some posters your recent posts have been nothing short of disgraceful. Let me be the first to say what SOME (not all as you would lead us to believe) of our players did was embarassing and it was something that hurt me as a Gumeracha person through and through. But NSP has a point, it was the stupid niggly garbage that has no place in football that started it all...... 3 players just reacted appaulingly to stuff that Kersy have been dishing up for years. As for Thommo, he appeared to be standing up for our players who were being continually abused by certain elder statesmen from over the hill who are supposed to be well respected. Our players have been reasonably well behaved for the most part this season, certainly "most" of our players havent been sent off..... Saturday let us down in a big way but its a bit rich for someone from Kersbrook having a crack for ill-discipline.

Also what gives umpires the right to take hold of our players during a game. A Kersy player, who shall remain unnamed, elbows, strangles and punches one of our players and it was our bloke who gets hammered by the Ump and forcibly dragged away by an umpire. What wouldve happened if the roles were reversed ?? The player in question would be lucky to play again but nothing will happen to the umpires.

Again I will re-iterate that the IMO 2 out of the 3 players that were sent off for us on Saturday (and the 1 from Kersy who was lucky to be there anyway) deserved to be so but its our clubs "image" that rightly or wrongly saw the umpires make huge mistakes that couldve seen all these situations avoid

Owen would never find him. If he doesn't live in either Lobethal, Mt Barker or Strathalbyn, he can get away with murder.
Poor Owen gets lost going into the city.

Ill-Discipline Kersbrook?? :? :? Well Shortman tell me how many cards have been dished out to the obviously 'Picked on' Gumeracha players in 2009?? Kersbrook's 'A' grade received it's FIRST yellow card for the season on Saturday, and NO 'A' grade player has had to go to HFL Headquaters on Wednesday night. Think Brett James has his blokes perhaps a fraction more disciplined than Thommo. And again is Thommo banned from the Amateurs, hence why he is at Gums??
