Bulldogs the big winner this week, wow. I think they'll beat Geelong but would've got smashed by Saints.

Collingwood on the other hand, big losers.

And I wanted Adelaide on Saturday arvo. :(

I disagree. Geelong v WB should be a cracker, but Collingwood should account for the Saints. They are playing quite average at the moment. I predict the saints will not make the GF

Essendon would have much rathered play Carlton in Melbourne. Big blow for them and with 2 or 3 blokes likely to miss Adelaide should win easily.

Its early in the week but my feeling is Brisbane, Collingwood and Geelong for the other winners. Probably know more closer to the date (Teams etc)

Don't underestimate the Saints. How much can we read into their form given they've had absolutely nothing to play for?

I reckon Collingwood's form at the MCG might see them beat the Saints on Sunday.

I reckon the other winners might be Adelaide, Carlton and Geelong.

My tips
Collingwood will get the week off and beat St. Kilda. The Aint's are not looking too good.
Geelong over the dog six days off will not help footscray.
Adelaide to beat the bombers
Brisbane over the blues.

Bulldogs are the big losers IMO. More than a full day less break than their opposition, despite their efforts to finish third. What a disgrace by the AFL to allow such an important game with two finalists (and there was a reasonable prediction these two would have been fionalists when the draw was done) to finish at 7pm Sunday night, just for the sake of telly.

Don't worry about the Cats. Now the serious stuff starts. If it's terrible conditions, the Cats will do it in a canter.

Anybody know when the semis are going to be played?

i find this weeks scheduling interesting and a little short-sighted.

The winner of Adel V Ess plays the loser of StK v Coll in week 2. The friday night team will have 2 days extra rest. In past years the semis have generally been played on Fridays and Saturdays.

So potentially you could have Adel play Collingwood on the saturday, the Pies having 6 days to prepare and the Crows 8. Hardly seems right given the Pies (or saints) finished the higher. Flip the night games around in the first week and the difference is not as significant.

Anyway, just a whinge.. 8)
SAFC- 60 years...
StKFC- 58 years..

Couldn't agree more. Bulldogs have not just been the big winner this week, but over the last 3 weeks.
They have really shown that they are not only a contender for the flag, but they might just win it.

I agree that the Saint match would have been a lot harder than Geelong (i think they have lost against the saints 5 times out of the last 6).

Collingwood will bounce back against the Saints this weekend. The Saints have not been playing their best football lately and Collingwood will be be sore about losing to the bullies.

Adelaide only definate win for the week.

Lions V Carlton - No idea and I really don't care who wins.

My tips:
Adelaide - Essendon are a bit low on man power, but even with Lloyd and co in I would still have tipped adelaide.
Carlton - Well **** me if they dont get to at least the 2nd round of the finals this year. We keep hearing about how good they can be and are going to be, so Im going to pick them to beat Brisbane at the Gabba
Bulldogs - Well im my opinion the bulldogs are playing better than the cats. Also with out Johnson up forward I feel the cats will struggle. Also the fact that Chapman is not quite ready to fully roll yet means up forward there a little under cooked. Still the Cats will not go quietly by any means and really could take this one just as easily.
St.Kilda - Collingwood are playing well at the moment, there is no doubt about that, I just feel the Saints will come to play this week and fire up to take this match.

All in all some cracking games this weekend!

If you watch the Carlton v Crows game last week, Carlton CLEARLY drop intensity at about half way through the 2nd quarter, the exact tme the result came through from the 'G'.

Surely they werent 'tanking' to avoid the bombers? 8)

Anyway i digress- Cows, Saints, Cats and Brissy for me.
