just need an AFL experienced coach and an influx of 7-8 guys with div one experience!

personally cbc were a better team last year then NH were this year but haven seem to always have a bit extra cash, hopefully they just get the right people!

Who are the 7 or 8 guys?

I know D Rossetto was one of them

Jimmy, I was always under the impression that 'risotto' was a rice dish, not a footy player! ;)

CBC dont seem to have too many different players from last year. They just seem to be able to get them all on the park at once.

Is that a fair assesment DE ?

Someone from PAOC can answer this - Are PAOC a better side than last year ?

I havent seen them play this year, but looking at their side, i wouldnt think they are.

Is D4 weaker this year than last ?

I havent seen any D4 games this year at all.

I think Div 4 is actually stronger this year than last. I am confident that CBC would have accounted for Mitcham and Portland of last year, this is no disrespect to these clubs, they wre both worthy grand finalists, its just an opinion that i will obviously never be able to prove either way.
CBCOC look to have only added a few players but are clearly the most structured and disciplined side in the comp, thier defensive set up is very sound. ( i guess this is what you would expect with a coach with these credentials).

BTW is Roo expected to play this weekend anyone ?
If so I think PAOC will win but without him im not so sure.
Fitzroy forawrd line is very dangerous and Ben Hart will cause headaches for whoever he stands
at this time of the year.

You are probably right, but you have to remember, these 2 sides sat 4th and 5th on the ladder for the majority of the year. They only got their cr@p together come finals time. PAOC were the stand out for all the minor round, finished clearly on top in 2008. Judging from the players they lost last from last year, and who they gained, IMO they are a 3-4 goal worse side this year (this is without Roo of course). As i said, i havent seen them play though, its only an observation based on players reputations and past performances.

Dont forget, CBC will play both Portland and Mitcham next year, so something can be gauged in 2010.

Not being argumentative Felch, but which players, other than Ryan Byrne, do you think cost us 3-4 goals in difference this year?

Yeah, def not my best day on the park. Not sure really, we were confident going in as we had knocked them off both times this year, but we were aware that they are a good side. Seemed to be a second quarter fade out again. Will be interesting to see who wins this week though. I think PAOC probably deserve to go up a div going on their form this year and last year. Def most consistent team in the last 2 years. Would highly doubt CBC have not done any recruiting over the summer. Actually I heard quite a lot of money was thrown around for both coach and new players. Every team has their injuries, but you don't go from being nearly relegated to smashing every team the next year. I know the quality of the coach would have a lot to do with it, but there were def some bigger bodies in their team this year compared to last. Will be interesting to see how they go once Jarman has gone. Any idea if he will go on next year?

Ryan Byrne is the main one, and the other Byrne - im told he can actually play, but yet to see proof ;) . Also Waltham has been injured for a reasonable chunk of the season, right ? There is a few goals right there. Dont forget, Byrne kicked a sh!t load of goals last year. From what im told, Choimes has not had the same year as last year either. Also, blokes like Waltham and Nicholls are not getting any younger and common sense would tell you that they would be less influential as each year passes. Obviously, throw Roo into the side and its a different story. As i said Jimmy, i havent seen a single game of D4 this year. My opinion is based solely on looking at who was playing this year and last. Possibly not the best method to gauge an opinion, but its the only way i could.

Do you think you are better or worse than last year ? Would PAOC 2008 beat PAOC 2009 ?

Ben Hart seems to be able to turn it on around finals time.......I may be wrong but I think he might have kicked 10 or 11 in a Grand Final a couple of years ago....

ive heard that cbc arent paying there players as the players came out to play and learn from darren jarmen. Cbc this year would have beaten all the teams last year aswell.

Paoc were a better team last year if you dont count roo and modra

and its interesting you say north haven have all this money because i think you might be wrong

Poor form from professional bbq guys, oh thats right, they're not. I finished that Can of Tooheys new after the game, still Ice cold and refreshing. Perhaps you should have brought your own food aswell as beer.
