Yeah, def not my best day on the park. Not sure really, we were confident going in as we had knocked them off both times this year, but we were aware that they are a good side. Seemed to be a second quarter fade out again. Will be interesting to see who wins this week though. I think PAOC probably deserve to go up a div going on their form this year and last year. Def most consistent team in the last 2 years. Would highly doubt CBC have not done any recruiting over the summer. Actually I heard quite a lot of money was thrown around for both coach and new players. Every team has their injuries, but you don't go from being nearly relegated to smashing every team the next year. I know the quality of the coach would have a lot to do with it, but there were def some bigger bodies in their team this year compared to last. Will be interesting to see how they go once Jarman has gone. Any idea if he will go on next year?

Where do you think we are getting this money from FF, Canteen takings?

Not from the burnt steak sandwich I got last week (plus the one can of Tooheys New which I left by a tree after one mouthful). My mate got served a cold sausage and they wouldn't replace it.

bad canteen.......bad canteen........

Jimbo let me tell u a lil about the bloke who runs the canteen at dolphin park. His son played for CBC a few years ago and even after his son stopped playing (moved interstate) he still volunteered to run our canteen. He is at dolphin park 10am every home game and would leave the oval around 6pm counting all the income for the day. He also spends thursday nights doing stock take, ordering in new stock. And im sure there is more to it than just that.

footy clubs rely on people like this to survive. Next time i visit ETIHAD on Hackney i will be bringing my own WED and food. Not good that you are attacking an important source of income for our club.

Poor form Jimbo.

CBCOC look to have only added a few players but are clearly the most structured and disciplined side in the comp, thier defensive set up is very sound. ( i guess this is what you would expect with a coach with these credentials).

BTW is Roo expected to play this weekend anyone ?
If so I think PAOC will win but without him im not so sure.
Fitzroy forawrd line is very dangerous and Ben Hart will cause headaches for whoever he stands
at this time of the year.

CBC this year would quite easily account for Portland and Mitcham of last year IMO.
And CBC have at least 4-6 new players this year that didn't play last year...........All mature and bigger bodies as well.
The top 5 sides in Div 4 this year are probably better than last year but the bottom 5 this year are definitely alot worse IMO.

A little harsh on Golden Grove and Greenacres........Golden Grove finished just outside the top 5 and I think their best is as good as PAOC, Fitzroy, Salisbury West and Pooraka. They just didnt have their best forward and took some time to adjust to a strong div 4 comp.

I didn't say GG and Greenies weren't any good..............I just don't think they were as good as the lower placed teams last year. It was alot more even last year in Div 4 than what it was this year that's all.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

It's funny that the tension of finals brings the standards of other clubs BBQ's into question...

I love the BBQ's at every club, I love the beer tents and bars and clubrooms at the clubs, I love the appeal of being at a different club every second week and experiencing their 'way of life' to a small extent and I love the finals !!!!!

Seeing there is so much finals tension on the forum at the moment I'm just trying to spread some love...

Well done to all the Div 4 clubs that we have played against this year. I don't have a bad word to say about anyone or anyone's facilities because after all it is just a game that you play with/against your mates...

Now.... to kick Pooraka's ass this weekend ;)

In 2007 we finished second after Round 18, went 13-5, and won the GF.

In 2008 Portland finished second after Round 18, went 13-5, and won the GF.

In 2009 PAOC finished second after Round 18, went 13-5....

I'm saying that....

CBCOC will still win the flag. If the Crows win this week they'll probably play in Melbourne Saturday week, because St Kilda/Collingwood can't have a five-day break, which means no Ricciuto on GF day.

In essence, my stat will mean nothing.

I am still proud of picking up on it though.

I'm a real stats man and I'm super impressed mate.... 2006 there were no 13-5 finishers but there were 2 in 2005. How did they fare ??

Those ladders just brought one thing to my attention, Unley actually didn't improve this year! IMO the competition was def stronger this year! Two stand out teams this year compared to just one last year. Also the closeness of the 3,4,5 and 6.

We have the same problem - the ACC wont let us fart in them without 5 years of submissions

Maybe we can get my mate Mike Rann to declare them major projects and build something that is, at least, half decent
