proposing to the girlfriend....

i'm going to propose to my girlfriend soon, but want it to be a bit more special than ya average marriage proposal.

i'm heading over to the USA in march next year with her, and am thinking that it will probably be the best time to do something special. my first idea was to try get on the court at halftime of the LA Lakers game we're going to, so i emailed them and asked them if something could be arranged, but i figured they probably get 396820 requests for that a day, and dont expect the reply email to be too positive. the other idea i had was to propose somewhere in Vegas. we're having a night-time helicopter tour, and am thinking this would be an awesome time to get on one knee.

but has anyone else on here got an idea? i dont want it to be just ya average "go out for dinner" thing. i want this to be different, much like me!

yeh, that's what i'm hoping. the whole "we're coming from the other side of the planet" thing was the biggest selling point to my email, and that we've got about 6 months to organise something.

we're not taking the gromit with us to america. in all, we're having a 4 week holiday, a week in both mildura and melbourne to spend with family, with the US in between them. we'll have the lil fella with us in melbourne and mildura, just not for the 2 weeks overseas, thanks to my sister, brother and mum that dont get to see him very often, they were more than happy to accept my offer for them to share him for the fortnight!

and Pseudo, that is a definate NO! my family and friends would kill me if we got married over there! we've already been warned to not do such a thing!

TBB its quite easy to get free tickets to show tapings if you are in LA at all during your trip- hang out near the Chinese theatre or the area near Universal studios. The mrs and I saw a taping of the Jay Leno show- it was GOLD.

Good luck on the proposal- If you are keen to ask her in Vegas, try asking her whilst atop the "Stratosphere" hotel (The one with the rides on the roof). Sensational views of Vegas, night or day!

she would love that! she seen the hotel and the ride on a TV show and straight away said "we definetly have to go there!". so whats the go with it mateeg? we dont have to be staying at the hotel to go to the top and go on the ride?
