Despite clearly being the best side for the season the Dolphins had a bad day at the office going down by 10-points in yesterday’s Division 4 Grand Final.

In warm and sometimes blustery conditions the boys did the club proud and battled valiantly to the finish but just fell short of premiership glory. Final scores were 13.11 (89) to 14.15 (99). Best players for the day were Robert Douglas, Nicholas Pilichiewicz, Liam Threadgold, Ben Primus and Andrew Wilson. The goal kickers were Primus (5 goals), Wilson, Konopka, Pilichiewicz (2 goals) and singles to Tom Payne and Jordan Milde.

The Club and in particular the players would like to extend a special thank you to the support shown on the day from the large contingent on ‘the hill’ (including Dirk the Dolphin). It was a pleasure to see so many people (including a number that came from interstate and overseas for the day) supporting the Club. In these times where there is little loyalty shown by some and many Clubs utilise the chequebook to buy imports to win premierships it is this sort of camaraderie and club spirit shown on and off the field yesterday that makes CBC Old Collegians the greatest football club in the world and me proud to say that I am a Dolphin until I die.
Reflecting on the season we saw the team break a number of club records and set a solid foundation to launch an assault on the Division 3 premiership. The Committee would like to thank the coaching staff, players, volunteers and supporters for their efforts during the season and we look forward to another successful year coming up.

The preparations for 2010 have already commenced behind the scenes with the news that Darren Jarman has extended his contract and will continue as Senior Coach.

This years Presentation Night will be held on Saturday 31 October with details on time and venue to be available shortly on this site.

Would there be much point in the club/sponsors paying Ricciuto seeing though he is the major sponsor of the club.

You seem to miss the point Johno - that is what he is saying, but what I am asking is how many of their A Grade went to CBC - I'll hazard a guess at less than 5 so what he said is nothing short of hypocrisy

We had 4 non-old scholars including one from Mercedes College which doesnt have a footy club so he came out with us

and if CBC had thought of approaching the Alma with a deal, they wouldn't have gone through with it - Nah...........

Yep. Won't be attending from what I've heard.

I think his attitude is that his coaching days are over (at GGFC anyway...) so he can't see the point in going as any outcome isn't going to affect what he does in the future. Not saying I agree... but that's the attitude...

Oh I agree LM... I agree... I don't understand why it just doesn't happen and get finalised instead of wasting everyones time adjourning it every 2 weeks... Just get it over with...

It used to be good when it was at Tynte Street - Good pub across the road - a lot of blokes would go over and have a drink after the "session"

I also seem to recall meeting there and sorting out a story with a Greenacres bloke before one session..... ;) It was very funny - the ump was not the brightest spark. The Greenies guy and I gave versions that were the complete opposite of what happened. The umpire started changing his story to match ours - very difficult for us to not smile and give it away. We both got off after having a one on one.....
